Anthea Turner says she’s been ‘given a second chance at love’ with her fiancé after two failed marriages as she reveals she’s a grandmother after her stepdaughter welcomed a baby

Anthea Turner says she feels lucky to have found love again with her fiancé, especially after experiencing two previous divorces. She’s also shared the happy news that she’s become a grandmother through her stepdaughter’s new baby.

The 65-year-old television presenter fell in love with businessman Mark Armstrong, and they became engaged in 2019.

Anthea was first married to radio DJ Peter Powell, but their relationship ended in 1998 when she began a relationship with property developer Grant Bovey. They later married and were together for 15 years, from 2000 until 2015.

She recently told The Sunday Times that she and Mark are planning to get married next year, and she remains optimistic about marriage.

She said: ‘I’m a woman who got a second chance at love and family life and I’m loving it.’

When asked if romance in your sixties is more about friendship than passion, she strongly disagreed, saying, ‘Absolutely not, that’s not my experience at all.’

It’s common for libido to dip during menopause, but it doesn’t have to stay that way. I personally find hormone replacement therapy (HRT) really helpful, and a new romantic connection can definitely reignite your desire.

She’s still very close to the children of her ex-partner, Grant, and recently shared some joyful news: his daughter, Claudia, just had a baby! She excitedly announced that she’s now a grandmother, calling herself ‘Granny Anth’ and saying she couldn’t be more thrilled.

It comes after Anthea recently opened up on being labelled a ‘homewrecker’ after falling for Grant.

She left Peter in 1998 for Grant – who at the time was married with three young children.

Grant, a friend of Peter, left his wife Della and their daughters, then aged two, four, and seven.

As an observer, it all seemed like a dramatic story unfolding, but I always remembered that for the people actually living through it, it was incredibly difficult and heartbreaking. It wasn’t just entertainment for us; it was their lives.

She was publicly accused of destroying a home, and she recently discussed that period of her life in an interview last October.

Anthea explained to the Telegraph that she was being honest about an affair because she believes people often lie when they say a breakup is due to issues within the relationship itself – usually, she says, there is someone else involved.

I had a lawyer friend release a statement to prevent further investigation and potential discovery of sensitive information.

‘I look back on it all now, it was a series of unfortunate events.’

Anthea went on to be with Grant and they were married for 15 years.

I remember when they first separated back in 2012 – it was so sad. They did try to work things out for a little while, but sadly, they split for good in 2013. The divorce was finalized in 2015, and it came out that he’d been unfaithful, which made the whole thing even more heartbreaking.

Their marriage ended when she found out Grant, who was 52 at the time, was having an affair with interior designer Zoe de Mallet Morgan.

She made this discovery only a few months after she’d forgiven him for being unfaithful.

The presenter said she has no regrets about her marriage to her ex-husband, Grant, even though he was unfaithful.

In 2023, she shared with Richard Eden of the Daily Mail that she focuses on the positive, always remembering the good aspects of her marriage.

Honestly, it just kills me to see people weighed down by all their ‘what ifs’ and blaming themselves for everything. They just get stuck, you know? They can’t ever really go anywhere because they’re too busy carrying all that baggage. It’s heartbreaking, and it stops them from truly living their life!

‘I move on, I’m not a natural dweller, and I think it is a female sense of survival.’

The presenter had previously shared that she wrote a heartfelt letter to her husband, Grant, explaining how menopause was affecting her behavior and hoping he would understand. She didn’t realize at the time that he was already having an affair with a woman 24 years old.

Anthea found it difficult to talk properly with her ex because of work, so she started writing down her thoughts and feelings instead.

Fast forward to present day, Anthea has found love again with millionaire businessman Mark.

She shared with HELLO! that she had a feeling he was going to propose, remembering the moment happened during a romantic getaway to Italy. They got engaged surprisingly quickly – just a few months after they first met.

As you get older, things often happen faster because you just know what you want, and there’s no use wasting time on things that don’t feel right.
