Strictly Come Dancing has many loyal viewers, and Queen Camilla is one of them – she’s been watching the show for years.
To celebrate Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman‘s final episode on Saturday, they received a special send-off from Queen Camilla.
Let me tell you, as someone who’s seen a lot of live events, nothing is quite as dramatic as those final moments! On the last show, the contestants were absolutely floored when a surprise message came in right before the results were announced. It really threw everyone for a loop!
The heartfelt message was read by judge Craig Revel Horwood, a member of the Strictly Come Dancing panel since the show began in 2004, and it was revealed that it was personally written by Queen Camilla.
A visibly moved Craig read aloud: ‘Tess and Claudia, as you get ready for your last dance, I want to express my gratitude – and the gratitude of the millions of viewers who tune in every week.’
I’ve always felt that Strictly isn’t really about the dancing itself, but more about the connections people make, the challenges they face together, and the happiness they find in working towards a common goal.

If that’s the case, your connection has been the most remarkable collaboration we’ve seen. The genuine warmth, kindness, and joy you share have truly been key to the show’s success.
I know I can say for everyone that you’ve been amazing. We wish you all the best in the future, and as someone who’s truly enjoyed it, please promise us you’ll keep dancing!
‘With the warmest gratitude and admiration, Her Royal Highness, Queen Camilla.’
Tess and Claudia were deeply moved by the outpouring of support and found it hard to hold back tears after reading the touching letter.
Tess expressed her gratitude to fans, saying their kind messages meant a great deal to her and the team.
We’ve truly enjoyed being on this amazing show, and it’s been an honor to spend our weekends with you all.
Tess has been a co-host of the main BBC show since it began, alongside Bruce Forsyth. Claudia initially joined the Strictly family on the spin-off show ‘It Takes Two’ and later became a main presenter.
The couple revealed earlier in the year that they were leaving the show, marking the end of a long and successful run on the dance floor.
