Kevin Spacey makes a rare appearance at Piers Morgan’s annual Christmas party ahead of facing new sex assault claims in civil trial

Kevin Spacey was seen at Piers Morgan’s yearly Christmas party shortly before a civil trial began where he’s facing new accusations of sexual assault.

The 66-year-old actor was found not guilty of sexual assault in a criminal trial last year. However, he will now defend himself against new sexual assault allegations made by three men in a civil court trial scheduled for 2026. He maintains his innocence.

Kevin Spacey was seen in public for one of the first times in a while at Piers Morgan’s Christmas party in London on Friday.

The party took place at the Scarsdale Tavern in Kensington and was also attended by celebrities like Myleene Klass, Ronan Keating, and Susanna Reid.

Spacey was beaming as he arrived for the party wearing a navy tweed suit and zip-up sweater. 

Ruari Cannon, along with two other men who wish to remain anonymous, have accused the actor of abuse that allegedly occurred between 2000 and 2015. These claims will be examined in a court trial next year.

They say they met the 66-year-old actor because he was an artistic director at the Old Vic Theatre.

All three men have filed lawsuits against Kevin Spacey in High Court, and Mr. Cannon is also suing the theater itself.

Spacey has denied the accusations against him, and in 2023, he was found not guilty of nine sex offense charges involving four men.

On Wednesday, Elizabeth-Ann Gumbel KC, representing the three men, argued that their cases should be combined and heard at the same time.

In a statement for the hearing, she explained that this would prevent the men and Kevin Spacey from having to testify repeatedly.

She explained that if the cases weren’t combined, the defendant would have to testify multiple times and appear in court for three different trials.

Just days before the accusations surfaced, Kevin Spacey clarified that he has a home, responding to recent comments about staying in Airbnbs and hotels which led people to believe he was homeless.

Okay, so he finally addressed it in a video today, and honestly, it was so sweet! He said he had to explain because thousands of people – seriously, thousands! – have been messaging him, offering him places to stay or just checking if he’s doing alright. It’s just… it’s amazing to see how much people care, you know? It totally made my day seeing that he’s aware of all the love!

‘And to all of you, I am truly touched by your generosity full stop,’ he continued. 

I don’t want to mislead you into thinking I’m living on the streets like most people understand homelessness.

I explained that I was traveling and staying in hotels and Airbnbs, following the work opportunities, much like I did when I first began my career.

Spacey also mentioned he’s been working incredibly hard all year, and he’s very thankful for it.

Many people are struggling with homelessness or severe financial hardship, and I deeply sympathize with them.
