Who should you go for between Xilonen and Varesa in Genshin Impact Version 6.2 Phase 2
The new Genshin Impact banner for Phase 2 of Version 6.2, featuring Xilonen and Varesa, presents a tough choice for players. Deciding which character to get depends on what your team needs right now and what you’re planning for in the future. Both characters are strong, but one might be a better investment than the other depending on your goals.
Here’s a breakdown to help you decide.
1. Xilonen
Xilonen is a powerful 5-star character in Genshin Impact who fights with a sword and uses the power of the earth (Geo). Her main ability revolves around her Elemental Skill and a unique feature called Nightsoul. She’s designed as a dedicated support character, providing helpful boosts to her team based on what elements they use. Xilonen is also great for exploring the world; when she uses her skill, she turns into a Leopard Spirit, allowing her to climb walls and mountains with ease.

She’s a versatile character who excels at exploration and can significantly lower an enemy’s resistance to three different elements by 35%. Her special ability heals the character currently in battle, and when equipped with the Cinder City artifact set, she boosts elemental damage by 40%. Best of all, she’s easy to build because her power is based on her Defence stat.
2. Varesa
Varesa is a powerful 5-star character in Genshin Impact who uses a Catalyst and specializes in plunge attacks, dealing significant damage. Her abilities also make exploring the world easier. After using her skill, she gains a boost called Rainbow Crash, which strengthens her plunge attacks and makes her run faster, helping you get around quickly.

Varesa is a powerful Electro damage dealer in Genshin Impact, especially when using her plunging attacks and special burst. Even without any constellations (at C0), she’s considered one of the best.
Why you should go for Xilonen or Varesa in Genshin Impact Version 6.2
Here are some points that will help you choose between the two of them.
1. Requirements
First, think about what your team currently needs. Xilonen helps boost the damage of your main damage dealer, while Varesa is a powerful damage dealer herself. If you need a new Electro damage dealer, choose Varesa. But if you already have a strong damage dealer and want to make them even stronger, Xilonen is the better choice.
2. Investment
Varesa, like other damage dealers, requires a significant investment to build effectively – you’ll need a strong team, a critical hit-focused build, and a good weapon. Xilonen, however, is much easier to build; simply focus on increasing her defense and energy recharge. If you already have a powerful damage dealer and don’t want to spend a lot of resources, Xilonen is a great choice – she can boost your overall damage with minimal investment.
3. Competition
Currently, Xilonen is unique because she’s the only character who can simultaneously reduce three enemy stats and heal allies. While Genshin Impact has four 5-star Electro DPS characters, Varesa is already significantly stronger than two of them. Only Flins can match Varesa’s damage potential.

With the 6.3 update, Columbina will improve Flins’ performance, potentially allowing Flins’ team to outperform Varesa’s team in terms of damage. If you want a powerful Electro damage dealer, avoid using Varesa until Flins’ team receives this update.
Now you have to decide for yourself who is most important for your account, Varesa or Xilonen.
