Abbey Clancy pays emotional tribute to her beloved cat who has died aged 20 as she brands her ‘one in a million’

Abbey Clancy shared a heartfelt post on social media Friday, mourning the loss of her beloved cat, Maggie, who was 20 years old.

The host of Britain’s Next Top Model, age 39, posted a sweet photo of two of her children cuddling their cherished pet. She described the animal as ‘one in a million‘ in a heartfelt message.

She wrote, ‘Goodnight, my sweet baby.’ She continued, ‘You were truly special. I’m devastated after 20 years with you.’

The TV star seemed heartbroken by the death of a family member who had been part of the Clancy-Crouch family for twenty years.

Abbey and her husband, former footballer Peter Crouch, 44, have four children: daughters Sophia Ruby, 14, and Liberty Rose, 10, and sons Johnny, 7, and Jack, 6.

In 2023, the couple talked about letting their cats sleep in the bedroom on their podcast.

Peter started a conversation with his wife by gently pointing out that the issue wasn’t with her personally, but with how the room was organized.

Abbey was clearly surprised. ‘Hold on a second,’ she said, ‘I’m really organized, and I need to take control of this situation.’

Peter pointed out that I hadn’t handled the situation well, explaining it was because the cats were in our bedroom.

I know the dog is downstairs, but you’ve brought a litter box, food, and water into our bedroom, which isn’t okay.

Basically, anything that happens privately between us – when I’m winding down, taking a bath, or even asleep – there’s a chance things could become intimate.

Abbey cut in to joke: ‘We’re bonking to a beat.’

Peter went on, ‘It’s funny, whenever I’m doing things like that, I always hear rocks shifting and scraping…’

Abbey interrupted: ‘I would never have sex in front of our cat. Let’s just put that out there.’

Peter shot back: ‘Is that why you put them in the bedroom?’

Abbey laughed and replied: ‘Yes!’

Peter continued, saying, ‘Seriously, whenever you hear rocks moving, you just assume it’s a cat using the litter box.’

Abbey recently revealed her daily diet, offering a glimpse into her life as a busy mom of four.

Abbey openly discussed how she and Peter reduced their alcohol consumption, confessing they drank too much wine while staying home during the Covid pandemic.

Abbey wakes up at 6:30am and starts her day with coffee while her children have croissants for breakfast. She says mornings are often ‘hectic’ because she’s busy getting everyone ready and out the door for school on time.

Once the children are all at school, I finally get to start my day. I sometimes treat myself on vacation, maybe having a bit too much wine, but then I get motivated and focus on my health, going to the gym daily.

I’m always fascinated by Abbey’s routine! She told The Sunday Times Magazine that after hitting the gym, she dedicates an hour to dressage training with her horse, Enzo. And every week, she and Pete get together to record their podcast, ‘The Therapy Crouch’ – I love listening to that!

She added that if they move forward with the podcast, they’ll order chicken sandwiches for lunch. She also mentioned she enjoys meeting friends weekly for a fun lunch of pasta, usually with a bellini or two.

I usually do the cooking, and last night I made a really delicious meal of dauphinoise potatoes, steak, mushrooms, and green beans. When I’m too tired or not home, Pete will either order takeout or make his signature dish – an omelet packed with whatever leftovers he can find in the fridge!

Abbey admitted they drank a lot more wine during the Covid lockdowns and are now trying to cut back. She noted this is a big change from when her husband, Pete, played for England and the media heavily focused on the wives and girlfriends of the players – the so-called ‘WAG culture’.
