Strictly’s Motsi Mabuse displays her incredible weight loss as she shows off her toned abs in a sports bra to promote her new fitness range

Motsi Mabuse, known for her role on Strictly Come Dancing, revealed her impressive weight loss while launching her new fitness collection on Friday.

The 44-year-old dancer displayed her fit physique in a short black top and grey leggings, showcasing her flexibility in a recent video.

Motsi recently shared that she lost weight by focusing on a healthy diet and good nutrition. She’d previously spoken about how maintaining a healthy weight had always been difficult for her.

In the video, Motsi showed off a black sports bra from her collaboration with the German lingerie brand, Sugarshape.

The caption, originally written in German, shared a personal moment: ‘Today, I’m dancing for my own enjoyment. I’m focusing on my breath, connecting with my feelings, and replenishing my energy.’

This year, I’ve focused on creating designs that are empowering, elegant, and feel incredibly comfortable – like a natural extension of the body. I’ve been lucky enough to collaborate with others to bring this vision to life.

These pieces are perfect for dancing, working out, or just everyday life. They’re supportive yet comfortable, offering a secure fit that still allows for complete freedom of movement. The material is gentle – no itching or binding whatsoever. I was involved in the creation of every detail, and that’s why they’re so special to me.

As the year winds down, I’m entering the new year feeling focused and empowered. I’m also excited to share a little bit of Christmas cheer with my community – a special treat just for you.

Motsi shared in October that she achieved her recent transformation not through weight loss injections, but by prioritizing healthy eating and regular exercise.

I’ve been following her journey, and honestly, her transformation is incredible! She says the key to losing so much weight was really focusing on weight training and eating a lot of healthy foods – things like nuts, fruits, and salads. Interestingly, she also mentioned that going through menopause actually motivated her to get in shape and prepare for the future, which I think is so inspiring!

She expressed frustration to The Sun that discussions about menopause often focus on scary possibilities rather than reassurance. She noted she’d never encountered anyone offering a positive outlook, even when directly asking Shirley Ballas about her experience. Ballas reportedly confirmed it would be challenging, describing it as ‘a ride.’

Motsi has spoken openly about her lifelong challenges with weight and how she’s learned to be kinder to herself about her body size. She shared these thoughts in 2022.

She recalled a teacher telling her to lose weight when she was only 110 pounds. However, she now believes that prioritizing mental, physical, and emotional well-being is far more important.

Motsi shared a frightening story about her childhood growing up in apartheid South Africa, revealing she experienced hateful racism, including being called a ‘black witch’ by teachers at her school.

She shared with Prima that, as a professional dancer, she also constantly battled with her weight. The pressure wasn’t just about winning competitions, but also about meeting certain weight standards.

A teacher once made a comment about my weight when I was already quite thin – I only weighed 50 kilos! My body has changed a lot since then, and my weight naturally fluctuates.

I don’t think I’ll ever be completely happy with how I look, but I’ve definitely become kinder to myself. Prioritizing my overall well-being – mental, physical, and emotional – is far more important than just being thin.

I was a bit shocked during the latest Strictly show! Motsi seemed to gently scold Neil Jones for making a booing sound, and then, bless her, she had a little memory lapse – she called it a ‘perimenopausal moment,’ which I thought was really honest and relatable. It just showed she’s human like the rest of us, even while judging!

During the quarter finals, a judge on the BBC’s dancing show criticized a professional dancer while watching from the balcony with the other dancers.

She told Neil he would have a partner next year, and jokingly added that she’d be more selective about the numbers she chose.

Motsi raised a paddle showing the number two and firmly told the audience to be quiet.
