A cast member from The Big Bang Theory recently shared that they often secretly help strangers with acts of kindness.
Kunal Nayyar, discussing his new movie Christmas Karma, told The i Paper he regularly pays the medical bills of strangers as a personal habit.
Kunal Nayyar, the 44-year-old British actor known for playing Raj on The Big Bang Theory, says he’s not overly concerned with money. He earned approximately $1 million per episode during the later seasons of the popular CBS show, and that financial success has given him peace of mind.
Okay, so I was reading this interview with Kunal Nayyar, and honestly, even though everyone is slamming his new Christmas movie, what he said really got to me. He was talking about how having money isn’t about the stuff you buy, it’s about what you can do with it. He said it’s given him the freedom to actually help people, to really make a difference in their lives, and that’s the best thing about it. I just… I totally get that. It’s not about the reviews, it’s about the impact, you know?
He and his wife, Neha Kapur – a former Miss India and fashion designer – support a variety of causes, not just healthcare expenses.
Nayyar notes that these efforts also support funding for college scholarships, specifically helping students from disadvantaged backgrounds.

‘We also support animal charities because we love dogs,’ Nayyar added.
He admitted his secret passion is using GoFundMe to secretly pay the medical bills of strangers. He jokingly described it as his way of being a masked vigilante.
Nayyar smiled and said, ‘Money isn’t a worry at all—it feels like a gift from the universe.’
It was natural for him to do something charitable after appearing in Christmas Karma, a Bollywood take on the classic story, A Christmas Carol.
Nayyar plays Eshaan Sood, a successful British Indian businessman inspired by Ebenezer Scrooge. He famously fires most of his employees on Christmas Eve, and then receives a series of ghostly visits aimed at helping him realize the mistake he’s made.
In an interview with The i Paper, Nayyar encouraged people to look for opportunities to support those in need.
He explained that a lot of people are frustrated because they’re waiting for others – specifically leaders like the president or politicians – to solve problems and bring about peace. They’re hoping someone else will take the initiative.
True peace isn’t possible if we’re unwilling to share even small things with those around us. It’s like refusing a simple request from a neighbor – if we act that way, we can’t expect a peaceful world.

Nayyar expressed his hope that viewers would take inspiration from the core message of his new film, which echoes Dickens’ classic idea: change won’t happen unless you make it happen.
He shares his habit of making random GoFundMe users’ dreams come true with Taylor Swift.
This October, the popular singer donated $100,000 to help two-year-old Lilah fight a rare and aggressive brain cancer, as detailed on her GoFundMe page.
Some people questioned the donation at first, noting the girl’s family seemed to be Taylor Swift fans. However, the mother later clarified to TMZ that they had never met or communicated with Swift prior to receiving the money.
Taylor’s friend, Ruby Rose, later shared that she had personally seen how generous Taylor is.
Taylor Swift reportedly used to browse GoFundMe as if it were a social media platform, tapping the button to mark donations as ‘reached’ similar to ‘liking’ a post, according to a post by Rose on Threads.
