The Voice contestant Kata Hay is arrested for vehicular homicide after making sexual advances on teen boy

Kata Hay, who competed on the show The Voice, has been arrested on a warrant related to a fatal car crash.

Kata Huddleston, who goes by the name Hay, was wanted by police in Goodlettsville, Tennessee. However, she was actually found and arrested by the Osage County Sheriff’s Department in Oklahoma, according to TMZ.

The Osage County Sheriff’s Department reported that one of their deputies arrested 38-year-old Hay within the county early Wednesday morning.

The Daily Mail has reached out to both the Goodlettsville Police Department, who were looking for Hay, and the Osage County Sheriff’s Department, who took her into custody, but hasn’t received a response from either yet.

According to records from the Daily Mail, Alen Hay – who was previously incarcerated for inappropriate contact with a 16-year-old boy – is now being held at the Osage County Jail in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. He is being held on behalf of the Goodlettsville Police Department and is suspected of being a fugitive.

I was really saddened to hear about the charges against Hay. From what the Goodlettsville Police Department shared, it seems the vehicular homicide charge stems from a tragic crash that happened on Long Hollow Pike, close to the I-65 in Tennessee. It’s just a terrible situation all around.

However, the authorities have provided few details about the nature of the reported crash.

Goodlettsville police had previously asked the public to be on the lookout for Hay, believing she was traveling to Oklahoma with a white male and possibly pulling a large camper.

I just heard from TMZ that Kay is scheduled to appear in court on Monday, December 22nd. Apparently, they’re just getting the paperwork signed so he can be officially sent to face charges elsewhere. It’s all about the extradition waiver, so he can be transferred to the right jurisdiction.

According to records found online for Davidson County, Tennessee, and reported by the Daily Mail, Hay is currently facing a misdemeanor DUI charge.

It’s listed as her second DUI case, following a 2016 misdemeanor conviction.

In addition to the current charges, Hay is also facing misdemeanor charges for two separate incidents: failing to stay at the scene of an accident that caused over $1,500 in damage, and possessing an open container.

Those offenses are listed as having occurred on Wednesday, December 10.

The current vehicle-related charges against Hay follow her 2022 arrest for sexually assaulting a 16-year-old boy. She allegedly kissed him and repeatedly touched him inappropriately despite his protests, and also engaged in unwanted physical contact.

According to reports, Hay was at a friend’s house when she started making inappropriate sexual remarks about the victim while his parents were present.

The boy’s mother, who is friends with Hay, later told police she had questioned him about what her son said and even recorded the conversation. According to her, Hay admitted to the claims during that conversation.

According to the boy’s mother, Hay had been intoxicated at the time of the sexual incident.

Hay eventually admitted guilt, but maintained the victim hadn’t shared the complete story of what happened, as reported by WKRN in Tennessee.

She couldn’t offer further information because she admitted she had been drinking.

She testified, stating, ‘I didn’t lie. That’s why I admitted guilt, though the events didn’t unfold as described.’

Hay was sentenced to six months in prison after pleading guilty.
