Ticketmaster’s outrageous response to a fan who paid $300 for the Lady Gaga concert and couldn’t see anything: ‘They are gaslighting us’

A Lady Gaga fan who paid $300 for tickets to her Brisbane concert was denied a refund by Ticketmaster, even though the seats had a blocked view of the stage.

The attendee shared the ticketing agency’s response on Facebook after making a formal complaint.

Last week’s Lady Gaga concert at Suncorp Stadium had a few problems, including a delayed start, as one concertgoer described in a previous post.

If you enjoyed my concert-inspired tea blends from the Lady Gaga show, get ready – I’ve got even more exciting new creations coming your way! This week, I’m thrilled to announce I’m expanding the line.

The Lady Gaga fan accused Ticketmaster of misleading them, sharing a screenshot of their response. Ticketmaster claimed they didn’t know about changes to the seating arrangement until the day of the concert.

Ticketmaster also argued that because the fan stayed in their seats, they weren’t eligible for a refund.

‘Thanks for sharing your feedback,’ Ticketmaster began their response.

The event organizer is sorry if you were unhappy with the seating at the Lady Gaga: The MAYHEM Ball.

Sometimes we need to make changes to how the event is set up, and these adjustments can unexpectedly affect what people can see.

When you bought your tickets, there was no mention of any blocked views.

‘Regretfully, this changed on the day of the show.

Event staff were on hand all night to quickly handle any problems, like helping fans find new seats if possible.

‘As you chose to remain in your seats for the duration of the show, we’re unable to offer a refund.

Ticketmaster handles ticket sales for this event on behalf of the event organizer. We don’t have the power to approve or deny refund requests – those decisions are made by the event organizer.

We value your feedback! It helps us learn how to make our products, services, and overall experience better for you.

A representative stated they couldn’t provide additional information because they haven’t been able to verify the concertgoer’s attendance without proper proof.

Many people criticized Ticketmaster’s reply to the disappointed fan in the comments on the Facebook post.

‘All I read in that is ”it’s your fault because you stayed in your seat”, sorry what?!’

Someone else commented, asking what people expected – did they think I should admire the view from my seat and then angrily leave?

Another fan shared a comparable story from Taylor Swift’s recent tour in Australia, which was organized by Live Nation – the same company currently handling Lady Gaga’s Australian tour.

‘This EXACT thing happened to me with Taylor Swift,’ the concertgoer said.

There’s a really large speaker setup blocking my view, and my ticket didn’t say anything about a limited view.

‘Couldn’t move because the show was sold out.’
