Wayne Lineker, 63, is rushed to hospital in an ambulance as he suffers a severe second pneumonia attack

Wayne Lineker was taken to the hospital by ambulance after experiencing a serious bout of pneumonia for the second time.

The 62-year-old nightclub owner recently revealed he was seriously ill with pneumonia and nearly died. He also said he had surgery to relieve severe pain.

Wayne recently provided an update on his health after being readmitted to the hospital. This happened after his condition worsened while his son, Sean, was caring for him at home.

He explained he wanted to share a good photo of me because he wasn’t feeling his best, then shared a pneumonia update.

I was recently discharged from the hospital and sent home with antibiotics and other medication, but unfortunately, I had another serious health issue just four days later.

I needed another hospital visit and had to be taken by ambulance while being looked after at home by my son, Sean. I’m so grateful he was there to help.

Wayne shared that his immune system hasn’t been as strong since he gave up alcohol and got sober earlier this year.

Doctors are now studying the patient’s condition to understand why the antibiotics aren’t working as well as expected.

Just wanted to give you a quick update on my health. Unfortunately, I’m still battling pneumonia. My doctors are now trying to figure out why the antibiotics aren’t quite doing the trick, so we’re running some extra tests. It’s a bit frustrating, but I’m staying positive and focusing on recovery!

‘I’ve had countless scans and blood tests, with many results already back and more still to come.

It’s a relief to learn this doesn’t seem to be a heart problem. It’s more likely related to my immune system, which has been weaker since I gave up alcohol.

As someone who’s navigated a big lifestyle shift with recovery, I’ve been dealing with a surprising number of infections. Even after nearly six months sober, it’s still impacting my health. My doctors suspect this is directly related to the changes my body went through, and if they confirm it, the plan is to get me on a strong course of antibiotics and steroids administered through an IV.

It seems I’ll be spending Christmas in the hospital, but I’ve made peace with it. I’ll remain here until I’ve fully recovered and am able to return home.

‘Thank you all so much for the love, it truly means everything #pneumonia #beingpositive’.

Friends and followers flooded the comments with well wishes as Wayne continues his recovery.

Sending all our love and wishing Wayne a speedy recovery. Take all the time you need, and we’re sending blessings your way.

Sending all my love and support your way. You’re incredibly strong, and we’re all here cheering you on. Wishing you a speedy and full recovery!

Sending you all my love and wishing you a speedy recovery. I’m thinking of you and hope you come back even stronger!

Pneumonia is a lung infection that causes inflammation and fluid buildup in the small air sacs within the lungs, making breathing difficult.

Earlier this month, Wayner shared that he’s been using a walker because he lost his ability to walk while recovering from a severe bout of pneumonia that almost cost him his life.

Gary Lineker’s brother had a critical operation because of a serious illness.

Before needing to return to the hospital, Wayne could only walk about 200 meters using a walker, but he was optimistic about getting better. He’d also recently been able to get in and out of bed on his own, which was a positive step.

Last week, Wayne shared that he almost died from a severe case of pneumonia. He got the infection while traveling in Dubai.

In an Instagram post from the hospital, he shared that he’d had a life-saving operation the previous day. He believes staying sober for the past four months improved his health and ultimately saved his life.

Wayne shared a health update in the caption of his video, explaining that the past 16 days have been incredibly difficult – a frightening experience that felt life-threatening. He described it as the most traumatic period of his life.

I truly believe being four months sober gave me the strength to get through it. I don’t think I could have survived otherwise.

To the amazing NHS staff who looked after me: thank you. It doesn’t feel like enough to say, but I truly appreciate everything you did.

Next season, I’m planning a special way to thank the incredible NHS hospital workers throughout the UK who saved my life.

I was really moved by his recent video – he openly shared how incredibly difficult things have been for him. He specifically thanked his daughter, Tia, and her mother for quickly getting him the medical attention he desperately needed. It’s a powerful reminder of the importance of family support during tough times.

I wanted to share what happened to me recently – I had a very frightening experience with a serious infection I caught while in Dubai. It was a near-death situation.

I felt very sick, so I flew home right away. After a short nap, I woke up to find I was unable to move, even though I’d been walking normally just before.

I called my daughter, Tia, knowing she’d likely be up – it was 6 a.m., and she has a young son. She was my only hope of reaching someone to talk to.

Luckily, she called her mom, who came over right away. We were able to get an ambulance to our house, and they took me to Whipps Cross Hospital, where doctors diagnosed me with chronic pneumonia.

He explained that he was immediately taken to intensive care, where he stayed for about nine or ten days. He is now recovering in a respiratory ward.

This has been a really tough time for me. I’m struggling to get out of bed and even walk. I need help with basic things like using the restroom, and everything feels incredibly challenging right now.

He feels he’s past the worst of his illness and is recovering. Doctors found some fluid and infection in his lungs, so they performed surgery yesterday to drain it. He now has a tube in place to continue removing the fluid, which is significantly helping his lungs clear up.
