“Dark” mystery thriller with Sam Claflin confirms UK release date with first look

The new mystery thriller Vanished, featuring Sam Claflin from Peaky Blinders and Kaley Cuoco from The Big Bang Theory, will debut on Prime Video on February 1st. It will be available in the US, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Netherlands, and Latin America, with new episodes released weekly.

All four episodes will be released simultaneously on MGM+ (which is available as a subscription through Prime Video) on Friday, February 27th in the UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

Alice and her boyfriend Tom travel to Paris, but their romantic getaway takes a frightening turn when Tom vanishes on a train heading south. Now, Alice must navigate a dangerous mystery and uncovers surprising truths about the man she believed she loved.

The film stars two leads, with Karin Viard (known from The Bélier Family), Matthias Schweighöfer (Oppenheimer, Army of the Dead), Simon Abkarian (Casino Royale), and Dar Zuzovsky (The Saints, The Survivor) also appearing in the cast.

Initial photos from the project have been revealed, showing Claflin and Cuoco with bruises, and Cuoco wearing a tracksuit.

There’s a more cheerful photo too, showing Kaley Cuoco’s character, Alice, kissing a topless Tom, who is played by Sam Claflin, on the beach.

The last new image shows Alice sitting at a train station, looking worried and a little frightened.

The movie Vanished was filmed in France, primarily in the areas around Marseille and Paris. It was directed by Barnaby Thompson, who also directed the 2020 comedy Pixie and co-directed the St Trinian’s films released in the 2000s.

Claflin is currently working on several upcoming projects, such as the Irish drama The Last Days of Rabbit Hayes and a new film called F.A.S.T. from Taylor Sheridan, the creator of Yellowstone.

Vanished will be released be released on MGM+ on 27 February in the UK.
