Proud Elton John congratulates his husband David Furnish as he receives honorary degree for his charity work with singer’s AIDS Foundation

Elton John expressed his pride for his husband, David Furnish, who was awarded an honorary degree on Tuesday.

David, age 63, received an honorary Doctor of Literature degree from Royal Holloway London in recognition of his more than 30 years of dedicated charity work with the singer’s AIDS Foundation.

Elton John, 78, proudly shared a photo of his husband on his Instagram Story, celebrating his accomplishment in a graduation cap and gown.

David shared that he had an inspiring afternoon at Royal Holloway, London, watching new PhD graduates receive their degrees after years of hard work.

‘I revelled at the diversity and compassion of their dissertations. It filled me with hope.

I was also honored to receive an honorary Doctor of Literature degree, recognizing my three decades of work with the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

He went on to say that he accepted the award humbly, emphasizing that the life-saving work being honored was always a team effort, not the result of one individual’s actions.

I’m proud to share this recognition with the countless people who have worked tirelessly to improve the lives of those affected by HIV – the activists, doctors, researchers, volunteers, teachers, government workers, and generous donors. But most importantly, I share this with the people living with HIV themselves, whose bravery, resilience, and guidance have been the real force behind decades of progress.

I’m so grateful to everyone at Royal Holloway for the honor and the warm welcome to your community.

I want to give a huge thank you to everyone at the Elton John AIDS Foundation – they do incredible work. And especially, I have to thank my amazing and tireless husband, Elton, for everything he does!

Instead of traditional orange marigolds, he was wearing a vibrant pink pair decorated with feathers, a look that matched his bold, distinctive glasses.

The singer posted a video in response to a fan’s playful comment about his messy kitchen. The fan joked that his ‘oven needs cleaning before Christmas’ after seeing the singer’s recent kitchen video.

Sir Elton John, reportedly worth £475 million, responded to criticism about his home by announcing on social media that he would prove it’s actually very tidy.

Holding a cleaning spray, Elton sprayed the oven door, trying to show everyone it was already spotless.

He proudly exclaimed, ‘Just look at this! I’ve scrubbed and scrubbed, and now I have the cleanest oven window in Windsor!’
