Get ready for a revamped tournament format next season, making esports more accessible worldwide, along with a fantastic schedule of international competitions. These changes were announced by James Yang, Senior Director of Global Esports at Level Infinite.

PUBG MOBILE Esports roadmap 2026: A year packed with events

Over the next year, we’re planning a lot of exciting events, including two complete seasons of the PUBG MOBILE Global Open (PMGO). We also revealed expanded ways for both amateur and pro teams to qualify for tournaments, the return of the PUBG MOBILE World Cup (PMWC) as part of the Esports World Cup in Riyadh, and new information about the 2026 PUBG MOBILE Global Championship (PMGC).

The strong performance of PMGC 2025 – which boosted viewership and reminded fans of the game’s peak popularity – has inspired the developers and organizers to make future competitions even better.

Beyond the exciting esports competitions, we’re planning several improvements for 2026. These include making it simpler to compete within the game, creating a better experience for fans at live events around the world, and providing easier tools for those who want to host their own tournaments.

Two PMGOs, mid-season PMWC, and year finale PMGC will be the center of attraction

A major update for PMGO is the introduction of seasons – a change from the old Super League format. This new system aims to be more open, allowing both casual and competitive players to participate.

As a huge PUBG MOBILE fan, I’m so excited to hear about all the upcoming events! It sounds like there are going to be a TON of national championships – over 30 across eight different regions! These tournaments will be how teams qualify for both the PMGO Seasons and, even more excitingly, the PMGC 2026 in Turkey! And get this – the prize pool for the PMGC is a massive $3,000,000! It’s going to be an incredible year of competition.

The first part of the PMGO season will be held in Southeast Asia and offer a $500,000 prize. Season 2 will then move to Pakistan for the first time, also with a $500,000 prize, and will include extra chances to qualify. Later in the season, the Esports World Cup will take place in Riyadh, featuring the 2026 PUBG MOBILE World Cup (PMWC) and a massive $3,000,000 prize pool.

PUBG Mobile is gearing up for a big 2026, with a more robust competitive scene, expanded global presence, and increased investment. We’ll share more details about the exciting esports plans as they become available, so stay tuned!
