Riot Games commits over $100 million to VCT teams in 2026

Riot Games announced that teams in the VCT league will share over $100 million to help ensure the long-term health of competitive Valorant.

Riot Games plans to share over $100 million with Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) teams in 2026. Most of this money will come from sales of in-game items like skins, helping to ensure the long-term health and stability of competitive Valorant.

VCT teams will get over $100 million in 2026

Player spending within the game has a big impact, directly affecting teams’ finances for the following year. In 2025, Riot Games earned over $86 million from in-game esports items like team bundles, season capsules, and the Champions collection. This revenue will allow them to distribute over $100 million to VCT teams in 2026.

VALORANT esports had a breakout year in 2025, attracting more viewers than ever before to its Masters events. New features like Pick’Ems, Shotcall, and an updated broadcast interface also helped boost fan interaction. According to Leo Faria, Global Head of VALORANT Esports, “2025 was a defining year, with amazing competition, memorable moments, and record levels of engagement from players and fans globally.”

Leo Faria credits the community with making everything possible. He said the community’s dedication is what makes the VCT esports scene so strong, creating opportunities for new teams and promising even more international events in 2026, marking the beginning of a thrilling new chapter.

A sustainable path to VALORANT esports

Riot Games celebrates a major achievement, confirming VALORANT’s position as a thriving and long-lasting esports scene. They announced that 2025 was a particularly successful year for the game’s competitive circuit.

Both Masters Bangkok and Masters Toronto were the most popular Masters events in VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) history. VALORANT Champions Paris was also a huge success, featuring a memorable opening ceremony created with Fragment, and an exciting five-map final match where NRG won the 2025 VALORANT World Championship, according to Riot Games.

Okay, so the latest Pick’Ems were HUGE – over 2 million of us jumped in for the Game Changers tourney! And the new Shotcall feature? It was wild seeing everyone make live predictions during the events – millions of ’em! They also gave the whole viewing experience a makeover with a new HUD. Honestly, it made everything so much easier to follow with those clear visuals, and it really boosted how long people watched and interacted with the broadcasts. It was a really good update!

The 2026 season promises to be even more exciting, with new teams, updated player lineups, and completely new competitions planned.
