Celia Rose Gooding Wrapped As Uhura In Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, See How She Celebrated

Although Season 4 of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds isn’t expected until 2026, the cast is already marking the end of filming. Following posts from Anson Mount and Christina Chong, Celia Rose Gooding is now sharing her own farewell to the show.

After five seasons of playing Nyota Uhura, Gooding has officially finished filming her scenes in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds‘ final season. The actress posted a wrap photo on her Instagram Stories, with her celebrating in front of her own trailer door. Take a look:

I was surprised to learn the actors had secretly engraved their character names on the backs of their communicators, and I’d love to own one of those as a special keepsake. Luckily, no one else wanted it! It’s also wonderful to see Celia Rose Gooding so happy the show is finished – completing a series is always something to celebrate.

Although there’s a possibility Nichelle Gooding might return as Uhura if Star Trek: Strange New Worlds were to get a spin-off series based on the original Star Trek, she enjoyed one last moment on the ship’s bridge before moving on. It would have been amazing if she’d shared the video of her dancing on the Captain’s chair more widely so fans could create GIFs for Star Trek conversations, but this screenshot will have to do for now.

Season 3 of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds definitely had its funny moments, but this scene on the bridge was something else! It’s unexpected and a little shocking considering how much respect the captain’s chair represents in the show, yet it’s completely hilarious. It would be even funnier if she was dressed as Uhura, though I imagine some fans wouldn’t be happy about that.

It’s natural that time is passing, and there’s growing distance between when fans watched the show and when the actors actually filmed it. I really hope that when we talk to the cast about the last season, they still have clear memories of their experiences and can share what it was like during those final weeks of filming, including any interesting stories!

More On Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

The creators of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds are discussing how the show’s planned ending will affect future storylines. They’re also addressing rumors about a possible reboot of the original Star Trek series, potentially starring Paul Wesley.

It’s still unclear what will happen in the last season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, but TopMob recently spoke with co-showrunner Akiva Goldsman and learned some potential plans. He mentioned the idea of the final episode showing Kirk’s first day as captain of the Enterprise, which would nicely connect the show to the original Star Trek series.

It’s still unclear if we’ll be seeing a new Star Trek series starring Paul Wesley on Paramount+ anytime soon. Right now, the future of Star Trek is uncertain, with the focus being on releasing a movie and launching the Starfleet Academy series. We don’t know if Celia Rose Gooding will reprise her role, or if this was her last appearance in the franchise.

As a huge fan of shows like Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, I’ve been checking out Paramount+. They have a couple of plans – an Essential one for $7.99 a month, and a Premium, ad-free option for $12.99. But honestly, if you’re planning on using it a lot, the best deal is to go for the annual plan – it saves you a bunch of money in the long run! I just signed up and I’m excited to start binging everything they have to offer.

As a huge sci-fi fan, I’m already counting down the days for Season 4 of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds! You can catch the show on Paramount+, and while we have a bit of a wait – it’s coming in 2026 – I can’t wait to see what the team has created. I’m really hoping they deliver some surprising new directions as we head into what will be the final season.
