Home and Away star Josh Lawson ‘engaged’ to former The Project staffer

I’m so excited to share some lovely news! It looks like Josh Lawson, the talented Australian actor, has popped the question to his girlfriend, Sharyn Hart, and she said yes! Congratulations to the happy couple – it’s always wonderful to hear about love blossoming in Hollywood.

The former Home and Away actor, 44, who prefers to stay out of the spotlight, is reportedly dating Sharyn, an old romantic interest, and they’ve been seeing each other for a while now.

Sharyn, who manages talent, recently lost her part-time job with the TV show The Project when it was cancelled in June.

According to the Herald Sun, Josh recently proposed to Sharyn.

The couple, who live in Sydney, haven’t announced their relationship or engagement on social media yet.

Josh is most famous for playing a character in the American comedy-drama series, House of Lies. He also appeared in a significant role in the movie Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues.

As someone who keeps an eye on pop culture and entertainment, I’ve been following Josh’s career with interest! He really made a splash playing the villain Kano in the first Mortal Kombat film, and he’s set to reprise that role in the upcoming Mortal Kombat II. It’s exciting to see him bring that character to life again!

In 2019, Sharyn was rumored to be dating AFL star Jimmy Bartel, but she later said they were not involved romantically. Shortly after, Bartel separated from his wife, Nadia.

After Bartel’s split from his wife, rumors circulated that Sharyn, a producer for Network Ten’s ‘The Project,’ was one of the women he was close to.

Hart told the Daily Mail that reports of a romantic relationship with the Geelong Cats player were untrue.

I’ve always understood their friendship started on ‘Before the Game,’ that old footy show on Channel Ten. It’s a shame the show is gone, but it’s where I first saw them connect – it was clear even then they had something special!

When the show aired, Jimmy was still playing professional Australian Rules Football at a very high level. He’d already achieved significant success, including three championships, the league’s most valuable player award (the Brownlow Medal), and the best player in the grand final award (the Norm Smith Medal).

Hart, a mother, later became a producer for both the news program The Project and the popular reality show I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! on the Ten network.

Josh first gained public attention in 2012 when he started dating actress Rachael Taylor. They met while working together on the Australian comedy film, Any Questions for Ben?

Not long after, he was also seen keeping company with model Emily Gillies.

In 2021, Josh openly discussed his career path and why he chose to move back to Australia after a period of working in the United States.

The former soap opera star recently shared that he probably won’t achieve his goal of becoming a major Hollywood actor, explaining that stars like Chris Hemsworth and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson have set an incredibly high standard.

Josh recently told The Daily Telegraph that today’s action stars, like Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Jason Statham, and Chris Hemsworth, are incredibly impressive. He specifically described Hemsworth as exceptionally handsome, almost unbelievably so.

Some people are just incredibly attractive, and honestly, it’s discouraging. I’m not even going to try to compete with that level of beauty – let them have it.

Josh has noticed that as he’s gotten older, he’s been choosing roles where physical appearance isn’t as important, because he finds those roles more fulfilling.
