TikTok star Tucker Genal dead at 31: Influencer’s cause of death revealed as family pay tribute

TikTok star Tucker Genal has died at the age of 31.

I was so heartbroken to learn that the influencer passed away on December 11th. The Los Angeles Medical Examiner confirmed it was a suicide, and it’s just devastating news.

Tucker’s brothers, Carson and Connor, shared the news on Instagram Monday with a post featuring several photos of him.

It’s hard to know where to start. You weren’t just my best friend, you were the best big brother anyone could ask for. I’ve always admired you and tried to be like you – you were my hero my whole life, as the caption explained.

I’m certain of one thing: I’ll always admire you until we have the chance to meet again.

You were the kindest, most wonderful brother anyone could have hoped for.

‘We love you and will miss you eternally Tucker.’

We are heartbroken by this loss and respectfully request privacy as we grieve and adjust to life without our loved one. We truly appreciate the support and compassion everyone has shown our family.

The brothers shared a series of photos with Tucker in the post. 

Tucker boasted 2.5 million followers on TikTok, and 342K followers on Instagram. 

I absolutely loved watching him on TikTok! He and his friends and family were always creating these hilarious skits and fun challenges – it was seriously the best part of my day.

The Genals also ran a shared TikTok profile called Hustle House. 

Sean Schutt, a close friend who frequently appeared in videos with the influencer, also posted a heartfelt message.

‘Tucker… idk where to start… you were my best friend in the whole world.’

Five years ago, I was going through a really difficult time and felt hopeless. Then I saw Tucker and Carson Genal starting a content creator house in Los Angeles. They asked me to join, and that completely changed my life.

He continued, explaining that moving to Los Angeles and living with them completely changed his outlook on life. He specifically thanked Tucker, saying Tucker inspired him and revealed a side of himself he hadn’t known existed.

You were the most kind and giving person I’ve ever known. You consistently prioritized others, and had a special gift for caring, even when nobody else could. I honestly don’t know how I would have gotten through everything without you. You truly gave me a new lease on life.

You truly showed me how wonderful life can be, and I feel so lucky to have known you. I’ll always treasure our time together and the memories we made. Thank you for always being my support when I needed it most, and for simply being yourself. I’m going to miss you terribly, my friend. ❤️

People who followed Tucker were deeply saddened by the news, and many shared their grief online. One commenter on his recent TikTok post, made only five days before, wrote, ‘I’m completely heartbroken.’

The video showed a photo for each month of the year. The first eleven photos were in color, but the final photo, representing December, was black and white.

‘This was his goodbye post,’ one fan wrote.

Someone shared, “You were always so kind to me. This is just unbelievable. Please, everyone, reach out to your friends and offer support. Sending all my love to him, his family, and everyone who cared for him.”

I’m so incredibly sorry for your loss and am thinking of your family. I always enjoyed watching your TikToks with your brothers. Sending you peace.

‘Im shaking like I knew him. I am so sorry to anyone who knew and loved him,’ another wrote.

‘My heart can’t accept this,’ someone else added. 

Before becoming well-known, Tucker graduated from Furman University with a business degree in 2018.

He later landed a job as social media coordinator for sneaker artist Kickasso.
