Rachael died in the early hours of December 7.
Tony and Gael Carpani shared the heartbreaking news on Monday that their daughter, Rachael Carpani, a well-known Australian actress, has passed away after a long and difficult illness. She died peacefully and unexpectedly, her parents said in a social media post.
The funeral will be a small, private gathering of family and friends on Friday, December 19th.
‘The family requests privacy at this very difficult time and will be making no further statements.’

Rachael became famous for playing Jodi Fountain on the popular TV show McLeod’s Daughters, which aired in the early 2000s.
The actress, known for her work on the Australian drama series that aired from 2001 to 2009, was nominated for two Logie Awards for her performance as the main character.
In 2007, she received nominations for both the Silver Logie (for most popular actress) and the prestigious Gold Logie, the night’s top honor.
She acted in a number of films, including The Very Excellent Mr Dundee, Hating Alison Ashley, and The Way Back.
Last year, she appeared in several episodes of the popular Australian soap opera, Home and Away, playing the character of Claudia Salini, a scheming villain.
Rachael had her fans concerned after acute abdominal pain saw her rushed to hospital in 2021.
She explained that she was rushed to the emergency room with severe stomach pain a little over a week ago and had to stay in intensive care for a few days.
‘Was then moved to the surgical ward.

I ignored the warning signs my body was giving me – I often push through pain – and ended up getting very sick.
Rachael emphasized the importance of self-care, particularly for women who often prioritize others and neglect their own health due to feeling too busy. She urged everyone to pay attention to their body’s signals and make time for themselves.
Rachael shared that she was hospitalized on Valentine’s Day, posting a picture of herself in her hospital bed with a bouquet of flowers.
