Amazon Prime Video has pushed back the release date for Season 2, just a few days after announcing the original date.
Good news for Fallout fans! Amazon has moved up the release date for Season 2. It will now premiere on Prime Video on December 16th at 6pm PT, a day earlier than the previously announced date of December 17th.
The reveal happened at a special event held at the Sphere in Las Vegas. The event transformed the Sphere into a snowy, post-apocalyptic scene inspired by the series, complete with popular characters like Lucy, Maximus, and The Ghoul. A giant Deathclaw even appeared to be trying to break through the Sphere’s outer layer, adding to the dramatic effect.
The TV series Fallout, created by Graham Wagner and Geneva-Robertson Dworet and inspired by the popular video game franchise, premiered on Prime Video in 2024 to widespread critical and audience acclaim. The story follows Lucy, a resident of Vault 33, as she ventures into the outside world to find her father, Hank, played by Kyle MacLachlan.
As a huge fan of great casting, I’m really excited about the actors in Fallout. We’ve got Moisés Arias playing Lucy’s brother, Norm, and Xelia Mendes-Jones as a scribe from the Brotherhood of Steel named Dane. But honestly, Walton Goggins steals the show as Cooper Howard – a former movie star who’s become this incredibly cool, immortal bounty hunter known as the Ghoul! And it’s not just the main cast either – they’ve packed the show with fantastic guest stars like Chris Parnell, Matt Berry, and Cherien Dabis. It really adds to the whole experience.
What Can Fans Expect from Fallout Season 2?
Details about Fallout Season 2 are still mostly secret, but fans know the main characters will be traveling to New Vegas. This famous location has been central to many stories within the Fallout world, and was also the setting for a popular video game released in 2010.
Season 2 of Fallout continues the story after the events of the first season, following characters as they travel through the dangerous Mojave Wasteland towards the city of New Vegas.
Goggins described his character’s arc as a mirror reflecting the human experience. He explained that Cooper/The Ghoul is overwhelmed by information he can’t control, and is struggling to understand a world that’s drastically changed and feels chaotic. Ultimately, Goggins sees the character as a relatable person simply trying to find logic in an illogical situation.
Fallout Season 2 premieres on Amazon Prime Video on December 16.
