Rachael Carpani, an Australian actress who starred in popular shows like McLeod’s Daughters and Home and Away, has passed away at the age of 45.
The soap star’s family confirmed that she died ‘unexpectedly but peacefully’ a few weeks ago.
I’m absolutely heartbroken. I just saw the news… Rachael Carpani is gone. Her parents, Tony and Gael, posted that she passed away peacefully, but it was so unexpected. She’d been fighting a long illness, but I honestly had no idea it was this serious. It’s just… devastating. She was such a bright light, and I can’t believe she’s really gone. I’m sending all my love to Tony and Gael right now; they must be absolutely shattered.
Rachael died in the early hours of December 7.
The family went on to reveal the funeral plans, adding that it will be a ‘private event’.
The family has asked for privacy during this challenging time and won’t be releasing any more information.

Rachael is most famous for playing Jodi Fountain on the popular early 2000s TV show, McLeod’s Daughters.
The actress, known for her work on an Australian TV show from 2001 to 2009, was nominated for two Logie Awards for her performance as the main character.
In 2007, she received nominations for two prestigious Logie Awards: the Silver Logie for Most Popular Actress and the coveted Gold Logie, the night’s top honor.
She acted in a number of films, including “The Very Excellent Mr. Dundee,” “Hating Alison Ashley,” and “The Way Back.”
Her most recent role was last year on the Australian soap opera Home and Away, where she played Claudia Salini, a character known for being a villain.
Rachael had her fans concerned in 2021 after acute abdominal pain saw her rushed to hospital.
She explained that she was rushed to the emergency room with severe stomach pain a little over a week ago and had to stay in intensive care for a few days.
‘Was then moved to the surgical ward.

I really pushed myself too hard, honestly. I have a habit of ignoring pain and just trying to power through, and this time it backfired – I ended up getting seriously sick because of it. I just didn’t listen to what my body was telling me.
Rachael emphasized the importance of self-care, particularly for women who often prioritize others and neglect their own health, saying it’s crucial to pay attention to your body’s signals, even when life feels busy.
Rachael shared that she was hospitalized on Valentine’s Day, posting a picture of herself in her hospital bed with a bouquet of flowers.
