Rob Reiner’s final hours revealed as daughter breaks silence on horrific double murder

Tracy Reiner has spoken out for the first time after the tragic deaths of her father, acclaimed director Rob Reiner, and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner.

The 61-year-old actress, adopted by Rob Reiner while he was married to Penny Marshall, was heartbroken by the news, especially since she’d seen him just the day before his death.

Tracy told NBC News she was stunned, saying, ‘My family was incredible. I just don’t know what to say right now.’

She added that she had seen her father at a family gathering the day before the fatal attack.

Reiner, 78, and Michele, 68, were found dead at their $13.5 million Brentwood mansion.

The couple’s son, Nick Reiner, 32, is currently in custody in connection with their deaths.

Police say the couple had knife wounds, and it appears their throats were cut during a fight.

Okay, so I heard the news and I’m still freaking out! Apparently, around 3:30 PM on Sunday, things got really scary. Someone called 911 – the fire department first, then the police showed up at their place. I’m so worried about what happened that they needed medical help! It’s just… everything happened so fast, and I’m desperately waiting for more details. I hope they’re okay!

First responders found both victims deceased at the scene, according to People.

Later that day, officials told reporters that police were questioning a relative of the individual, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The LAPD subsequently confirmed that its robbery-homicide division is leading the investigation.

Reiner was married to Penny Marshall from 1971 to 1981, during which time he adopted Tracy.

After meeting Singer on the 1989 set of When Harry Met Sally, Reiner married her later that year.

The couple shared three children: Jake, 34, Nick and Romy, 28.

Rob Reiner, son of comedy icon Carl Reiner and actress Estelle Reiner, started his career as an actor but later became a highly respected director in Hollywood. He first gained widespread recognition playing Mike ‘Meathead’ Stivic on the TV show All in the Family, a role for which he won two Emmy Awards.

Although Rob Reiner acted in movies like Sleepless in Seattle, The First Wives Club, Primary Colors, and The Wolf of Wall Street, he was most famous for his directing work.

He started directing with the 1984 film This Is Spinal Tap and went on to direct several popular movies, including Stand by Me, The Princess Bride, When Harry Met Sally, Misery, and A Few Good Men. A Few Good Men received an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture.
