A brand new poster has been released for Star Trek: Starfleet Academy. The series, executive produced by Alex Kurtzman and Noga Landau, will debut on Paramount+ with its first two episodes on January 15, 2026.

Just as Paul Giamatti, an Academy Award nominee, unveiled a new four-minute preview of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy at CCXP, Paramount+ released a vibrant poster showing the academy’s cadets relaxing on a lawn. However, many dedicated Star Trek fans criticized the poster, saying it reminded them too much of teen dramas like Beverly Hills, 90210.

They seem to be trying to strike a balance, attracting new fans while still honoring the core values of Star Trek.

The new poster for Star Trek: Starfleet Academy is sparking some curiosity. Fans are wondering why Tarima Sadal isn’t wearing a Starfleet uniform, suggesting she might not be a cadet despite her romantic connection with Caleb Mir. The poster also reveals that students will be learning both in San Francisco – as seen by the Golden Gate Bridge – and on board the USS Athena in space.
