Only a couple of weeks remain until Stranger Things is back for its final season, releasing the second part with three new episodes. Netflix recently shared a new trailer, and viewers are concerned about the fate of one particular character.
The science fiction drama about growing up is almost over, with the final season released in three parts. The first part came out last month, and despite a major discovery and lots of excitement, the town of Hawkins remains in peril.
Set to Diana Ross’s song ‘Upside Down’, the trailer shows each character dealing with their own storyline. Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) admits they were completely mistaken in how they thought the alternate universe worked.

The trailer’s tagline hints at a major revelation: everything we thought we knew about the Upside Down is incorrect. This suggests a huge shift in the story and leaves viewers wondering what this means for the town of Hawkins.
Elsewhere, while we have a glimpse at the villainous Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower), it’s Steve’s (Joe Keery) interaction with Dustin that has many fans talking, with the character saying: “You die, I die.”
Dustin echoed the sentence to show his support, but the moment left many fans concerned about the pair, leading some to speculate it might hint at what happens to them later in the story.

One YouTube commenter expressed heartbreak, writing, “If he dies, I die,” while another pointed out the ominous line, “You die, I die,” between Steve and Dustin, calling it a worrying sign of things to come.
One fan said they were struck by the line ‘you die, I die’ and immediately checked the comments, only to find everyone else was already talking about it – it was hilarious!
One fan praised the line ‘You die, I die’ as a touching reference to season three and a response to those who worried it had damaged Steve and Dustin’s friendship. Another fan simply expressed hope that Steve and Dustin both survive.
The new season, premiering on Christmas Day, begins in the fall of 1987. Hawkins is still recovering from the events that opened the Rifts, and our heroes are determined to find and defeat Vecna. However, he’s disappeared, and no one knows where he is or what he’s planning.

Their task is made even harder by a government-imposed military quarantine of the town and an increased effort to find Eleven, pushing her into hiding once more. With the anniversary of Will’s disappearance nearing, a sense of familiar fear begins to grow.
The decisive battle is almost here, and it will bring a danger greater than anything they’ve encountered yet. To finally defeat this threat, they’ll need the entire team to unite for one final stand.
Stranger Things season 5 volume 2 premieres on Netflix on 25 December.
