M7 Swiss Stage Group Draw reveals regional rivals clashing in Round 1

The M7 World Championship’s initial Swiss Stage matches feature exciting matchups between teams from the same regions, like TLPH against Aurora Gaming PH, and SRG.OG versus CG Esports.

The first round of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) M7 World Championship Swiss Stage has created some exciting pairings. Two Philippine teams, Team Liquid PH and Aurora Gaming, will compete against each other right away, as will Malaysian teams SRG.OG and CG Esports. Getting off to a strong start is really important in this format, so these first matches could heavily influence how each team performs throughout the championship.

M7 World Championship Swiss Stage to open with a regional beatdown

The recent M7 press conference and draw showed which teams will compete against each other in the first round of the Swiss Stage. Instead of easy opening games, fans can expect some exciting and competitive matches, especially between teams from the same region.

TLPH vs Aurora Gaming PH

Team Liquid PH, winners of the recent Mobile Legends Professional League Philippines (MPL PH) Season 16, and Aurora Gaming PH, who finished second, are among the featured teams. However, many found the final match of the local tournament to be a bit disappointing.

Aurora performed very well in Season 16, achieving multiple wins and consistently reaching the upper bracket playoffs. Despite high expectations for a competitive final, TLPH unexpectedly won the championship with a decisive 4-0 victory.

Aurora and TLPH will face off right away in the first round of the Swiss Stage. This match is a chance for Aurora to bounce back, or simply another game for TLPH.

SRG.OG vs CG Esports

SRG.OG continues to dominate the Malaysian MPL scene, winning their fourth championship in a row with Season 16! They convincingly defeated CG Esports in the grand finals, winning with a clean 4-0 sweep and proving they are a force to be reckoned with.

That loss was a tough lesson for CG Esports, especially since it was their first time competing in the Malaysian MPL. Making it to the grand finals as a new team was a huge success, but losing decisively to the champions left them wanting more. It seems they’ll get a chance for a rematch soon on the international stage.
