BLEACH: Soul Resonance Review: 3D Bleach game done right

Fans have been waiting for it, and now it’s here: BLEACH: Soul Resonance! This new 3D action RPG brings the world of Tite Kubo‘s famous anime to life. Developed by Crunchyroll Games, the game is a fast-paced gacha experience filled with exciting sword fights, powerful Bankai attacks, and intense spirit-fueled battles. You’ll immediately step into the roles of the characters you love.

Launching worldwide in late November 2025, this new Bleach game aims to finally capture the fast-paced action and precise control that fans have been wanting for years. I spent a lot of time playing it on my iPhone 12 to see if it lives up to the hype, or falls flat like Renji sometimes does in the anime.

In this BLEACH: Soul Resonance review, I’ll cover everything from how the game plays and its story, to the graphics, how it handles in-app purchases, and the user interface. I’ll let you know if this anime adaptation is worth playing. Plus, check out our article on redeem codes for free items, and our beginner’s guide to help you get started quickly. Engage in real-time Swordplay and Soul Reaper showdowns

BLEACH: Soul Resonance truly shines during battles, which is great because that’s what fans want. Unlike some games where characters just fight on their own or have dull moments of inactivity, you directly control the Soul Reapers. That’s right, you’re in the action!

This 3D game lets you swipe to avoid attacks, tap to strike, and build up powerful combos – just like a classic action RPG. This makes every battle, whether against small enemies or major bosses, feel thrilling and rewarding.

The game’s animations are inspired by anime, and the combat feels fluid – dodging is important, and combining attacks is seamless, which isn’t always easy to achieve in mobile action games. A key feature is the ability to switch between three different Soul Reaper characters during battles.

Want to start a fight with Ichigo’s famous Getsuga Tensho, quickly switch to Orihime for defense, and then finish with Byakuya’s special attack? You can! This new feature lets you customize fights with more strategy, freedom, and flair. Plus, the Battlefield Skill system gives characters who work well together extra power-ups or lets them perform amazing team attacks.

This clever addition really elevates the battles, and it makes you want to try out different team combinations instead of just relying on the most powerful one. However, after playing for a while, the combat can become a bit repetitive. The good news is that if the developers add more moves and abilities in future updates, the already solid combat system has the potential to become truly exceptional.

The game offers multiple game modes with classic Bleach Storytelling

BLEACH: Soul Resonance will feel like coming home for fans of the original Bleach story. The game beautifully recreates the early arcs of the anime in 3D, letting you relive iconic moments like when Ichigo first meets Rukia and experience the thrilling battles of the Soul Society saga. These scenes are visually stunning and packed with action, offering both a nostalgic trip and a fresh perspective for longtime fans.

In addition to the main story, BLEACH: Soul Resonance features several game modes to keep things interesting. You can tackle difficult bosses with friends or other players in the co-op challenges. For an even greater test of skill, trial missions pit you against waves of Hollows.

Completing supply missions helps you collect the resources you need to advance in the game. Plus, limited-time events offer fresh challenges and unique rewards, encouraging you to play regularly and improve your team.

There’s already plenty of content to enjoy, and more is constantly being added. If the developers keep up the good work, BLEACH: Soul Resonance could become the ultimate Bleach RPG experience on mobile devices.

Experience beautiful animations, dazzling Bankais, amidst a faithful Bleach atmosphere

BLEACH: Soul Resonance truly shines when it comes to how it looks and feels. The characters are beautifully designed with a lot of detail, and the animations – particularly the powerful Bankai transformations and sword clashes – perfectly capture the energy of the anime.

The game beautifully recreates the world of Bleach, from glowing sword trails and crumbling landscapes to the energetic special moves that feel straight out of the anime. You’ll almost shout “BAN–KAI!” with the characters! The environments – like the unique architecture of Soul Society, the desolate emptiness of Hueco Mundo, and the familiar streets of Karakura Town – are all brought to life with impressive style, and the sound design is equally strong.

The music effectively evokes strong emotions, ranging from heartfelt moments to the excitement of intense battles. Sound effects – including the clang of weapons, eerie cries, and bursts of energy – heighten the drama, and the voice acting is immersive when well-timed.

BLEACH: Soul Resonance offers responsive Controls with a clean UI

Great controls are key for any fast-paced mobile game, and BLEACH: Soul Resonance gets it right – everything feels smooth and responsive. Moving, dodging, and using skills all feel natural, and the ability to switch characters in the middle of a combo is particularly impressive.

Okay, so when things really kick off – tons of enemies, explosions everywhere, and the camera’s going wild – it can get a little hard to see what’s going on. Playing on a smaller screen makes it even tougher, and I found myself accidentally hitting the wrong buttons a few times, especially when the interface felt cramped. But honestly, after I got used to where everything was, combat felt really good. It might take a little tweaking to get it perfect on your setup, though.

Gacha does exist, but it provides an unexpectedly fair experience

Let’s address the gacha element in BLEACH: Soul Resonance. While the game does involve summoning characters, it’s actually quite generous compared to many other games of this type, especially at launch. Players received a lot of free chances to summon characters, and it’s possible to get some of the best, or SSR, characters without spending any money.

Regular banners always feature powerful characters and valuable item tickets, and they have predictable rules for when you’re guaranteed to get a rare item. New players can take advantage of a special starter banner that guarantees a powerful character within 50 tries, making it a great way to begin. After that, the standard banner guarantees a rare character after 80 tries, and lets you choose exactly which one you want.

The “weapon stamp pity” system begins after just 40 pulls, before falling into the usual 80-pull pattern. Every 10 pulls after that guarantees you’ll get at least an SR-rarity item or better. Limited-time banners work in a similar way, but feature special, typically more powerful, units.

These banners ensure you’ll get the highlighted 5-star character when you reach a certain point, without having to worry about a 50/50 chance. Your progress towards earning that character also carries over to future limited-time banners. Similar rules apply to Limited Stamp banners, making them a great place to spend your Spiritual Jades if you’re aiming for powerful characters with special abilities.

The game’s sympathy system is a nice touch, but it’s still a gacha game, meaning the best characters are hard to get. As you progress to more difficult levels, earning resources becomes a repetitive grind. Improving your characters and getting the stats you want takes a lot of time – unless you’re willing to spend money. However, the game is enjoyable and doesn’t require purchases for casual players.

Final Verdict

BLEACH: Soul Resonance feels like a loving tribute to the anime, created by fans who truly understand what makes it special. It successfully combines exciting battles, a story that will remind you of the original series, and up-to-date mobile game features, making it a standout title. Though not perfect, it’s the best Bleach game in years at capturing the heart and feel of the anime.

If you like quick, exciting gameplay, anime-inspired graphics, and creating teams with characters who work well together, you should definitely give this game a try. You don’t need to have seen the Bleach anime to enjoy it, but longtime fans will find a lot to appreciate. That wraps up our BLEACH: Soul Resonance review.
