It’s that time of year again, and many Hollywood stars are likely receiving a special holiday gift from Tom Cruise: his famous Christmas cake. This annual tradition has become a well-known part of Cruise’s reputation. Actor Jake Johnson is among those who receive the cake every year, but he can’t eat it due to dietary restrictions. Luckily, Cruise always makes sure to send him something else he can enjoy.

As a huge film fan, I always find it interesting to hear about actors working together, and I recently came across a sweet story about Jake Johnson and Tom Cruise. Apparently, after they filmed The Mummy in 2017, Johnson started receiving this amazing white chocolate coconut bundt cake from Cruise! The funny thing is, I can’t have dairy, and Jake shared that he actually told Tom about his allergy. Cruise being the pro he is, didn’t just stop there – he offered to send a dairy-free version instead! It’s a really cool little anecdote and shows what a considerate guy Tom Cruise seems to be.

I was lucky enough to work with Tom Cruise back in 2017, and shortly after, I started receiving his famous holiday cake every year. A few years ago, I had to tell him I actually have a dairy intolerance. It was a little awkward admitting to someone I really look up to that I couldn’t enjoy his incredible cake! But the next year, he totally surprised me and my kids with a gingerbread house personalized with our names. He’s been sending one every Christmas since, and it’s become a huge tradition for us – we use it as part of our holiday decorations. So I just want to publicly thank him – he’s the best, seriously! That was a really kind and generous gift from Tom Cruise! It’s hard to say what’s more impressive – that he sent Dwayne Johnson another treat, or that he made it special for Johnson’s kids too. Joseph Kosinski, the director of Top Gun: Maverick and Oblivion, said he received one too – he called it “another level of Cruise cake!” And get this – Kosinski has gotten other incredible baked goods from Tom over the years, including an F-18 cake for his birthday one year. Talk about a sweet gesture from a generous star!
