The show is packed with thrilling action and compelling character development, seamlessly continuing the stories from the original two films. A particularly pleasant surprise was Lena Headey’s portrayal of Sarah Connor – she brought a fantastic depth to the role.

While some might not like the change in actors, it was necessary to find someone younger who could handle the physically demanding role. Plus, the fantastic connection between Lena Headey and Thomas Dekker, who played John Connor, was a major reason the show was so successful.

Though Rise of the Machines was intended as the third Terminator movie, it didn’t resonate with many fans. As a result, The Sarah Connor Chronicles essentially disregarded Rise of the Machines and instead built its story directly off the events of the first two Terminator films.

The show wisely centered the story on its most compelling characters – the Connors. While the robots are fun, it’s the human drama that truly makes this series work, and The Sarah Connor Chronicles really excels at this. This focus makes it one of the strongest installments in the entire Terminator franchise.
