Oprah Winfrey is currently traveling through Australia and New Zealand for a series of speaking events. Despite her busy schedule, she’s also making time to see the sights and stay active.
The 71-year-old talk show host, who has lost around 50 pounds recently, posted a photo on Instagram showing off her toned body while standing on a boardwalk with a view of Auckland.
Oprah Winfrey wore athletic pants, a fitted gray top, a large jacket, and a hat to shield her eyes from the sun.
She announced on Friday that Auckland, New Zealand, is the final city on her speaking tour, and she’ll be there tomorrow night.
Oprah Winfrey is bringing her intimate interview series, “Oprah in Conversation,” to Australia, where she’ll be chatting with journalist Melissa Doyle about personal experiences and perspectives.
They talk about being true to yourself, bouncing back from challenges, and becoming a better person, emphasizing that you can achieve anything you set your mind to.


It’s been 10 years since Oprah Winfrey last visited Australia and New Zealand, and she’s been making time for fitness, even taking a Pilates class while in Melbourne.
The TV personality recently shared a memory on Instagram about visiting Melbourne. They first met a friend, @jewelchic, back in 2010 for tequila and dancing. This time, they switched things up and took a Pilates class together at her son’s studio, @joyfulpilates.
It was a really fun, but physically demanding experience! Winfrey explained. ‘So if you see Melissa Doyle and me taking it slow getting on stage tonight, now you know the reason—our hamstrings are really sore!’
Oprah Winfrey has publicly discussed her challenges with weight loss and maintaining a healthy diet for years. However, she now feels she’s finally achieved lasting success.
Knee surgery, medication, and a healthy mindset have turned her life around for the better.
Oprah Winfrey shared with People magazine in 2023 that she took up hiking after knee surgery, gradually increasing her distance each week. She was eventually able to hike three to five miles daily and felt healthier and more energetic than she had in a long time.
She shared with the publication that a medication—which she didn’t identify—has been helping her deal with changes in her weight, and she described it as a welcome relief.
She expressed immense relief and gratitude that effective, medically-approved options for weight management exist in her lifetime, describing it as a welcome change from past experiences of shame and judgment.

In an August 2024 interview on the Today show with Al Roker, Oprah Winfrey shared that she’s come to terms with the fact she doesn’t have unlimited time left, which has given her a greater sense of purpose and a desire to make the most of her life.
She explained that she’d become so weak it was difficult to even walk a few steps, like getting into the car.
Honestly, seeing her get those knee replacements was amazing. It actually motivated her to start moving again! She seriously says it’s the best decision she ever made, and it’s just… incredible to watch her thriving after everything. It’s like a new lease on life, and I’m completely obsessed with seeing her so happy and active!
Winfrey explained that after losing weight, she felt reconnected to her body, something she hadn’t experienced in years. She attributed this feeling to the relief her weight loss provided for her knees, which had been causing her pain.
Winfrey now feels better than she has done in many years.
Oprah Winfrey, the famous talk show host, recently shared that she feels better than ever. After 25 years hosting her show, she believes she’s grown wiser, stronger, and more energetic and self-aware, and definitely doesn’t feel like she’s slowing down.
