During Friday’s Cancer Clinic Live segment for Stand Up To Cancer 2025, Davina McCall became emotional when a patient at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge unexpectedly asked her how she was feeling.
The 58-year-old TV presenter, who announced in November she’d had surgery for breast cancer, met with Stewart and his partner Michelle at the clinic to talk about Stewart’s fight against bowel cancer.
Oh my gosh, it was incredible! They followed these patients through everything – like, the absolute most important moments of their lives. Seeing those test results come in, watching them go through treatment… it was so intense and real, I felt like I was right there with them!
As their heartfelt conversation concluded, Davina wished Stewart all the best, and he reciprocated. This left the actress clearly moved.
Choking back tears, she said: ‘Can I just say, you asking me that, I can’t believe that.’
She added: ‘Can I just say something, I’m really good.’

Oh my gosh, it was perfect. When he said that, and Davina just… gently touched his face while thanking him? I swear, I almost stopped breathing! It was such a sweet, tender moment, and honestly, it just confirmed everything I already knew – they’re meant to be! I replay that little exchange in my head constantly, it’s just so adorable!
As they left with Davina, who was still wiping away tears, she called out, ‘Have a good meeting, thank you! Merry Christmas to both of you – I love you!’
During the segment, Davina also urged the public not to skip their cancer screenings.
Broadcasting live from Addenbrooke’s Hospital as part of Channel 4’s Stand Up To Cancer, she explained that detecting cancer early remains the most important thing we can do.
If you take away one thing from tonight, it’s this: even if you believe you don’t want to, or don’t need to know something, trust me, you actually do.
Trust yourself and listen to your body – you know yourself better than anyone. Taking care of your well-being is vital, not just for you, but also for those who care about you.
I shared some personal news back in November – I was diagnosed with a colloid cyst, which is a pretty rare type of brain tumor. It was definitely a shock, but I’m facing it head-on and wanted to be open about what’s going on.
She bravely endured a gruelling six-hour operation to remove the 14mm cyst.

Okay, so about a year ago, on November 8th, I shared some personal news. I’d actually been diagnosed with breast cancer six weeks prior. Thankfully, I found it early – while I was working on The Masked Singer – and had successful surgery. It was a scary time, but I’m so grateful for the quick diagnosis and positive outcome.
Davina shared that the illness was detected at a very early stage, but treatment with radiation therapy would still be necessary.
Oh my gosh, she just shared the most amazing thing! She said she’s being so open and honest because she wants to help other people, just like when she went through that terrifying brain surgery back in November 2024. It’s just… she’s so selfless, sharing everything to make things better for everyone else. I’m seriously blown away!
She first noticed the lump while filming the ITV singing show. A notice in the restrooms at the Lorraine studios then prompted her to get it checked by a doctor.
Davina shared that she recently discovered she has breast cancer. She noticed a lump a few weeks ago that appeared and disappeared.
While I was filming The Masked Singer, the show’s team put up signs in the restrooms reminding people to check for breast cancer. Every time I used the bathroom, I did a self-exam, and I noticed something was still there.
Okay, so I finally got the biopsy results, and it was what I’d feared – breast cancer. Honestly, it felt like a nightmare. I had a lumpectomy almost three weeks ago now, and I’m just trying to stay positive and focus on recovery. It’s been a really tough time, but I’m determined to get through this!
Davina shared an update on her surgery, explaining that doctors confirmed she had fully recovered.

The former Big Brother host explained they discovered a health issue very early on, which they considered incredibly fortunate. They were very relieved to have it dealt with and confirmed it hadn’t spread.
Even though she received positive news, Davina still needs five days of radiotherapy in January as a precaution to help ensure the cancer doesn’t return.
She expressed her gratitude to the medical staff, her family, and her fiancé, Michael Douglas. She then shared that while she was initially angry upon learning of her diagnosis, she’s now moved past that and feels much more optimistic.
Davina and Michael Douglas got married in a small ceremony in London last week, just two months after getting engaged unexpectedly in Ibiza.
The TV presenter spoke fondly of her new husband, age 49, after their wedding. She highlighted his support during a difficult time, including her surgery for a non-cancerous brain tumor and her recent breast cancer diagnosis.
Davina and Michael first connected when Michael styled her hair while she hosted Big Brother, a job she held from 2000 to 2010.
Let me tell you, sometimes the best relationships blossom from friendship! That’s exactly what happened with me and my now-partner. We’d been close for years, and things turned romantic during the summer of 2019. It was a really special time, especially since I’d gone through a divorce from my ex, Matthew Robertson, a couple of years prior. It just felt right.
During the Stand Up To Cancer 2025 event, the presenter showed off her wedding ring publicly for the very first time.
