The comedian and actress/model announced the pregnancy with a viral post back in July of the 2025 TV schedule, and Davidson opened up about their plans for the baby’s arrival. Specifically, what he and Hewitt are planning on naming their little one. While he didn’t specifically drop a name, he shared why they’re taking the “Staten Island Normal” approach as his fatherhood dream comes true.

Pete Davidson recently told People magazine that he and Elsie Hewitt are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their baby. While they haven’t picked a name yet, they have agreed on what names they definitely won’t be using. Davidson explained that they’re simply excited to meet their child.

We briefly considered using a flashy, Hollywood-style color scheme, but ultimately decided a more straightforward, natural look—like something you’d see in Staten Island—was a better fit.

Similarly, Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox named their daughter Saga Blade Fox-Baker, explaining the significance of the name ‘Saga’. Pete Davidson, a friend of MGK’s, has said he’s aiming for a more down-to-earth approach with his daughter, Elsie Hewitt, who was born in London.

It feels like everyone used to know a lot of people with the same names – like there were several Mikeys, Johnnys, or Tommys around. I miss that sense of familiarity. Do you remember growing up and knowing so many people who shared a common name, like seven Franks?

I didn’t know many people named Frank growing up, especially since I lived far from Staten Island. But my high school had every possible spelling of names like Caitlin and Katie, so I understand what Pete Davidson is talking about! Davidson himself has a very common name – Peter – but he pointed out that “Elsie” is a less common name in America. He also mentioned they don’t even need to use the “Staten Island Normal” version of a name to make it sound old-fashioned.

We were thinking the middle name could be a little fun.

It’s likely Pete Davidson and Elsie Hewitt will choose a practical, everyday first name for their baby, maybe something common like those found in Staten Island, and a more glamorous or trendy middle name. Whatever they decide, it’s safe to assume they’ll put more effort into it than they did when naming their ferry – which they jokingly called Titanic 2. Davidson himself has admitted buying such a large boat was a bit of an over-the-top decision.

The couple’s relationship moved quickly after they started dating in March, and they recently announced they’re expecting a baby. There was talk in the fall about a possible engagement, but they’re taking their time with wedding plans.
