Rita Moreno is looking ahead as she celebrates another birthday.
The 94-year-old actress shared her positive outlook on life Thursday, saying she hopes to continue enjoying things just as she has been.
Rita Moreno, famous for her role in West Side Story, recently shared her happiness, telling People magazine, “I feel incredibly lucky!” She was also in a long-term relationship with Marlon Brando, lasting eight years.
To celebrate this special moment, she’s looking forward to spending time with family and friends, and especially sharing a meal with her daughter, Fernanda Luisa Gordon, who is 58 years old.

She was the recipient of George Eastman Museum’s George Eastman Award in October.
The award, named in honor of George Eastman, the founder of Kodak, recognizes filmmakers for their important work in the world of cinema.
According to People magazine, Moreno jokingly said in her acceptance speech that receiving the award was a good sign she was still alive and able to do her job.
At 93 years old, I thought my days of being recognized for my work were behind me. Then, out of the blue, Eastman Kodak invited me to be honored! It really surprised me, and that’s why I’m here, and why you’re here too.
The award-winning performer emphasized how important the arts are to her, adding, ‘If you’re really fortunate, the greatest love in your life isn’t limited to just one person.’
It’s a lifelong companion, something that’s been with me since I was a child and will likely stay with me forever. For me, that’s always been the arts – it’s captivated me and given me strength.
Ricki Lake’s daughter is her only child, from her marriage to the late Leonard Gordon.
Her spouse was a heart doctor before he retired to become her manager.
In a March 2024 interview with People, she revealed that her 45-year marriage had become strained. She said that without her daughter’s help, she likely would have ended the marriage.
In 2008, she told Grand magazine that because her daughter was an only child, they focused all their affection on her, describing that love as endless.
The celebrated performer has enjoyed a remarkably successful career, earning an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar, and a Tony Award.
In 2023, she appeared in the movie 80 for Brady, a comedy about four lifelong Tom Brady fans—all women in their eighties—with Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, and Sally Field.
