The second season of Hijack promises a high-stakes thriller: a hostage situation unfolds on a Berlin subway train, and those on the surface race against time to rescue the passengers.

As a huge fan, I’m completely hooked by Sam Nelson, played by Idris Elba. He’s really the one dealing with everything that’s going wrong on the ship, and honestly, it feels like every choice he makes could be the one that saves – or dooms – them all. The pressure on him is intense!

The season two trailer opens with Luther’s Idris Elba, as Nelson, looking straight at the viewer. Meanwhile, Max Beesley’s character, DI Daniel O’Farrell, investigates a potential terrorism concern after Nelson travels to Berlin.

Meanwhile, Nelson rushes onto a train and causes widespread panic by demanding all passengers move to the front car right away.

Quick cuts show glimpses of the mayhem that happens when the train is taken over, as it carries more than 200 people.

Idris Elba, who received an Emmy Award for his work on the show’s first season, will be back alongside familiar faces including Gina Beesley, Christine Adams, and Archie Panjabi.

The cast also welcomes Christian Näthe (from Ballon), Clare-Hope Ashitey (Top Boy), Lisa Vicari (Dark), Karima McAdams (Dune: Prophecy), and Christiane Paul (Counterpart).

The second season of Hijack will begin streaming on Apple TV+ on January 14, 2026. You can watch the first season right now.
