Gemma Collins is seen for the first time since her mother’s hospitalisation with pneumonia as she shops for Christmas gifts

Gemma Collins has been seen for the first time since he mother was hospitalised with pneumonia.

Former reality TV star, 44, was seen Christmas shopping in Essex on Thursday, following the good news that her mother has recovered.

I was so worried when my mum, who’s 70, was taken to Broomfield Hospital last month. She came down with pneumonia, which I understand is a really nasty chest infection. It basically fills up your lungs with fluid, making it incredibly difficult to breathe. It was a scary time for all of us.

Gemma was seen shopping for Christmas presents at Lathams in Epping, making her first public appearance since her mother was hospitalized.

She appeared in good spirits while staff assisted by carrying her shopping bags to her car.

Gemma was wearing a large, bright pink sweatshirt with ‘Copenhagen’ on the front, along with black leggings and khaki-colored Crocs.

She shared that when her mother was hospitalized last month, it was an incredibly difficult time for her.

The television personality asked fans to send their prayers as she feared the worst could happen.

Thankfully, Joan started to get better, and Gemma wrote at the end of November that seeing her mother slowly recover felt like a miracle, thanks to the wonderful doctors and physical therapists at Broomfield Hospital.

‘I can’t thank you enough.’

And earlier this week Gemma shared a major health update after her mother’s illness.

She shared on Instagram on Tuesday about an unforgettable day, expressing immense gratitude to everyone at Broomfield Hospital. She thanked all staff – from receptionists and tea ladies to physiotherapists, doctors, and nurses – calling the care she received an absolute miracle over the last five weeks.

‘Thank you to everyone who has come up to me contacted me prayed for my mum!

I’m so touched by all the kindness I’ve received – people have been so warm and supportive, hugging me in stores and asking about my mom. I truly appreciate it more than words can say.

‘My Closest friends, people who cooked me dinner, the lovely Lambas it meant so much. GOD is GOOD.’

Gemma encourages everyone to focus on spending quality time with family and friends this Christmas, rather than getting caught up in gifts or traditions. She emphasizes that the people you share the holidays with are what truly matter.

The former TOWIE star shared a photo of Joan hugging Gemma’s fiance Rami Hawash’s son, Tristan.

Jedward wrote: ‘Grateful for Joan’s recovery it really was a miracle. She’s a fighter.’

Patsy Palmer, known for her role on EastEnders, expressed her delight, simply saying ‘So happy to hear’. Meanwhile, Gemma’s fellow TOWIE cast members – Jess Wright, Lewis Gatsby, and Chloe Sims – all responded with heart emojis.

People expressed enthusiastic support, calling the news “the best ever” and “beyond amazing.” One message included well wishes and encouragement, sending love and hoping Joan continues to improve.

Last year, Joan had a health scare when she stopped breathing and had to stay in intensive care.

Gemma told The Sun at the time: ‘I’ve had a lot of stress the last couple of weeks.

My mother was unexpectedly hospitalized, and doctors warned me her condition was life-threatening. They explained that if her heart stopped, they wouldn’t attempt to revive her.

I was unexpectedly hospitalized after going out to dinner the previous night, and it was a huge shock.
