Shailene Woodley poses in a quirky feathered co-ord as she joins Naomie Harris and Sigourney Weaver at the Red Sea International Film Festival’s Golden Globes gala dinner

On Wednesday night in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, many stars attended the Golden Globes gala dinner, which was held as part of the Red Sea International Film Festival 2025.

Shailene Woodley was among the first to arrive at the event, shining alongside stars like Naomie Harris, Sigourney Weaver, and Idris Elba.

The 34-year-old celebrity stood out in a unique black outfit featuring feathers, paired with long leather gloves.

She added a little height with black heels and chose a radiant makeup style for the glamorous event.

Naomie Harris, known for her role in Skyfall, looked stunning in a red and white silk dress, which she paired with a striking silver necklace.

Sigourney, 76, was also in attendance and put on a glittering display in a silver sequin dress.

The event also saw stunning appearances from model Alessandra Ambrosio, actor Idris Elba, and Olga Kurylenko, who looked elegant in a navy silk dress.

Oh my gosh, the Red Sea International Film Festival started last Thursday, and it was amazing! The opening gala in Jeddah was absolutely dazzling – seriously, so many stars! It’s just incredible to think it all began there in 2019, that city is where the magic started, and I’m obsessed with everything about it!

Dakota Johnson, Ana De Armas and Rita Ora were among the glamorous arrivals on the night.

Oh my gosh, this year’s festival is amazing! It’s seriously shining a light on incredible films from all over the world, but what I’m most excited about is how much attention it’s giving to filmmakers from the Arab world and all the amazing talent coming out of the region. I’ve been waiting for something like this forever!

People from around the globe gathered in Jeddah’s historic Al-Balad district to celebrate the festival, which focused on the theme ‘For the Love of Cinema’ for its 2025 event.

The event also served as the first-ever public screening of ‘Giant,’ a fast-paced movie telling the life story of boxing star Prince Naseem Hamed.

Rowan Athale directed the film, which features Amir El-Masry as Naz and Pierce Brosnan as his well-known Irish trainer, Brendan Ingle.

As a lifestyle expert, I was so moved at the gala’s opening! It was truly special to see Sir Michael Caine celebrated for his incredible 70 years in film. His dear friend, Vin Diesel, presented the honor, and it was heartwarming to see him supported on stage by three of his grandchildren as he shared some words. A beautiful family moment!

The festival’s jury members, including Nadine Labaki, Riz Ahmed, Sean Baker (who will head the 2025 jury), Jomana Al Rashid (Chairwoman of the RSIFF), Olga Kurylenko, and Naomie Harris, were all VIP guests at the premiere.

RSIFF CEO Faisal Baltyuor was accompanied at the gala by renowned Syrian film producer Jamal Suliman.

The film ‘One Battle After Another’ received numerous Golden Globe Award nominations when the list was announced on Monday, leading up to the awards ceremony on January 11th.

The Leonardo DiCaprio film received nine Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Screenplay. DiCaprio himself is nominated for Best Actor, while Benicio del Toro and Sean Penn are up for Best Supporting Actor.

The film will be up against Blue Moon, Bugonia, Marty Supreme, No Other Choice, and Nouvelle Vague for the Best Musical or Comedy Picture award. Many were surprised that Wicked: For Good didn’t receive a nomination.

The Best Picture – Drama category features a competitive lineup, including the films Frankenstein, Hamnet, It Was Just An Accident, The Secret Agent, Sentimental Values, and Sinners.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m always watching what’s trending, and the TV world is buzzing about Adolescence on Netflix! Fresh off its Emmy success, the show really cleaned up with nominations for its incredible cast. We’re talking Stephen Graham, Erin Doherty, and the fantastic Owen Cooper – all recognized for their work. Plus, a delightful surprise nod went to Ashley Walters, which I think is incredibly well-deserved!

The show received a nomination for Best Limited TV Series, Anthology Series, or TV Movie, joining titles like All Her Fault, The Beast in Me, Black Mirror, Dying for Sex, and The Girlfriend. This brings its overall nomination count to five.

Despite strong competition, The White Lotus received slightly more nominations than Adolescence, primarily due to the exceptional performances of its talented cast.

This awards show kicks off the season of celebrating outstanding achievements in film, television, and – new this year – podcasts, with prizes given in 28 different categories.

Marlon Wayans and Skye P. Marshall announced the nominees for the 83rd annual awards ceremony on Monday.

This year, each of the 28 award categories has six nominees, except for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement, which has eight.

As a bit of a TV enthusiast, I was excited to see the first nominations drop! The guys vying for Best Male Actor in a Drama Series are a seriously talented bunch. We’re talking Sterling K. Brown for his work in Paradise, Diego Luna for Andor, the incredible Gary Oldman in Slow Horses, Mark Ruffalo tackling Task, Adam Scott with his brilliant performance in Severance, and Noah Wyle from The Pitt. It’s going to be a tough race – all deserving actors, in my opinion!

Owen Cooper and Erin Doherty have both been nominated for acting awards. Sixteen-year-old Owen Cooper received a nomination for Best Supporting Actor in a TV series, limited series, or TV movie.

He’ll be competing for the award against his co-star Ashley Walters, along with Billy Crudup (from The Morning Show), Walton Goggins and Jason Isaac (both from The White Lotus), and Tramell Tillman (from Severance).

Erin is competing with Aimee Lou Wood, another British actress, for the award for Best Supporting Actress in a TV series, limited series, or movie, both nominated for their work on The White Lotus.

Rounding out the nominees are Carrie Coon from The White Lotus, Hannah Einbinder from Hacks, Catherine O’Hara from The Studio, and Parker Posey, also from The White Lotus.

Paul Mescal, the Irish actor, has been nominated for Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture. He’s up against Benicio Del Toro, Jacob Elordi, Sean Penn, Adam Sandler, and Stellan Skarsgard, as well as receiving a nomination for his own performance in ‘Hamnet’.

The winners for Best Screenplay included Paul Thomas Anderson for One Battle After Another, Ronald Bronstein and Josh Safdie for Marty Supreme, Ryan Coogler for Sinners, Jafar Panahi for It Was Just an Accident, and Maggie O’Farrell for Hamnet.

Joachim Trier’s Norwegian film, Sentimental Value, received eight nominations, closely following One Battle After Another in the film categories.

Ryan Coogler’s film, Sinners, received seven nominations, while Chloe Zhao’s Hamnet and Jon M. Chu’s Wicked: For Good each earned five nominations.

Everyone was surprised when the sequel to Wicked wasn’t nominated for Best Musical or Comedy. However, both Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande did receive nominations for their acting performances.

Several expected nominations were missing, including one for Sydney Sweeney for her role in Christy as Best Actress in a drama. Jennifer Lawrence (Die My Love), Tessa Thompson (Hedda), and Julia Roberts (After The Hunt) were nominated, along with Eva Victor, who received a surprise nod for her work in the independent film, Sorry, Baby.
