The hit French thriller Lupin is coming back for a fourth season on Netflix. Variety reports the new episodes will be released in fall 2026, almost three years after the third part became available.
The Netflix series Lupin, which premiered in 2021, centers around Assane Diop (played by Omar Sy), a skilled thief who takes inspiration from the adventures of Arsène Lupin, the famous gentleman thief and master of disguise created by Maurice Leblanc.
I was totally hooked by seasons one and two, which took place in Paris! They really centered around Assen’s drive to get revenge for his dad – he was determined to bring down Hubert Pellegrini (played by Hervé Pierre) and his whole family. It was all about that quest for vengeance!

In the third installment, the story focuses on Assane’s scheme to steal the Black Pearl. This happens after his mother, Mariama, is kidnapped by his old boxing coach, Jean-Luc Keller, who demands a ransom for her release.
Details about season four of Lupin are still mostly secret, but Netflix has confirmed that Omar Sy will be back as Assane. Sy described the show as “an extraordinary plaything,” and said he “finds great joy in it every time.”

According to Tudum, filming for the newest season began in May, with Sy and Louis Leterrier leading the production. A short trailer and poster have also been released, offering fans a sneak peek at Assane before the show returns.
The first part of Lupin has been a huge success, currently ranking as the fifth most popular non-English TV show ever on Netflix. It also received overwhelmingly positive reviews, earning a 98% score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Both parts of the series have been highly praised, with Part 2 earning a 96% rating and Part 3 achieving a perfect 100%. Reviewers at But Why Tho? called Part 3 “compelling,” highlighting its stronger cast, including more Black actors, and noting that it continues to be a captivating mix of action and suspense, making it essential viewing for crime drama fans.
Both The Daily Telegraph and The Guardian praised the show. The Telegraph described it as delightfully fun and traditional, while The Guardian highlighted Lupin as the compelling anti-hero viewers are looking for.
Lupin: Part 4 will return in autumn 2026.
