Chrishell Stause, from the Netflix show Selling Sunset, has criticized Gwen Stefani for working with an app that promotes anti-abortion views and asks for donations.
Matt Bernstein, a social media influencer, shared a video featuring Gwen Stefani, the 56-year-old singer from No Doubt, in a sponsored ad for the Hallow App. This comes after Stefani recently faced criticism for her Christmas outfits.
Chrishell Stause, 44, publicly responded to a post by the musician, referencing her own song ‘Don’t Speak’ in a pointed message. She wrote, ‘Gwen-DON’T SPEAK. Please take your own advice on this one [melting emoji].’
This app, costing $69.99 per year or $9.99 monthly, provides guided meditations and is based on the Catholic Church’s belief that abortion is morally wrong.
In her initial video, Stefani invited her followers to join the Hallow App’s Advent Challenge, a daily prayer practice for the weeks before Christmas.
This holiday season, it’s important to take time for prayer. That’s the true spirit of Christmas – opening our hearts to God and allowing Jesus to bring us peace.

Join me and millions of others in daily prayer this Advent and Christmas season by downloading the Hallow app.
Mark Wahlberg helped create the app, which first became available in 2018. He frequently promotes it on social media, encouraging his followers to ‘stay prayed up’.
Okay, so it’s not just Stefani who loves this thing! Chris Pratt is a fan too, which is amazing, but honestly, finding out Jonathan Roumie – Jesus from ‘The Chosen’ – is also into it? That sealed the deal for me. I mean, if he approves, it has to be incredible, right? I’m officially obsessed!
Peter Thiel, a well-known conservative investor, has put money into the app, and US Vice President JD Vance is also an investor.
In December 2024, Gwen surprised her fans by announcing she was partnering with a subscription-based prayer app and publicly supporting it.
Fans were also upset that she shared a Tucker Carlson interview featuring Roumie.
People overwhelmingly reacted to her public support of Catholicism by expressing their disappointment in the comments section.

Her public support of Tucker, shown by retweeting him, caused a lot of fan backlash as it appeared to show where she stood politically.
In March of this year, Gwen retweeted a clip of Roumie getting interviewed by Tucker Carlson.
Gwen commented, “Wow @JonathanRoumie, you’re a truly inspiring person! What an insightful and beautiful interview – thank you for being yourself!”
Following her Instagram post about Lent, fans reacted negatively to a prayer app she promoted and a tweet referencing Tucker Carlson. Many interpreted the Carlson tweet as an indication that she supports the Make America Great Again movement.
‘Don’t speak,’ one wrote, referring to her hit No Doubt song of the same name.

Another fan said they ‘miss the old Gwen’ while another called her ’embarrassing.’
Someone expressed their disappointment, asking how she felt about seemingly turning her back on her long-time (over 20 years) and largely LGBT+ fanbase by aligning herself with a political and moral stance they strongly disagree with. They stated they were saddened by this change and felt that her new direction was incompatible with the values her fans previously associated with her.
One wrote: Yikes. This one hurts.’
Oh my gosh, you guys, I’ve been following Gwen for ages, and it’s so amazing to see how deeply she connects with her faith! She’s been a regular at church for years, and she’s always talked so openly about being Catholic. It’s just…beautiful to witness her devotion, honestly. It really shows who she is as a person!
