Plug In Digital is excited to announce that Mindcop, a detective adventure game where you solve a mystery through non-linear gameplay, is coming to Android and iOS. Created by Andre Gareis, this independent game was originally released on PC and consoles and is scheduled to launch on mobile devices on January 20, 2026. Pre-registration is now available.
Get ready to solve the murder case before the killer escapes
The game’s art style immediately reminded me of Adventure Time. But beyond that, Mindcop offers a unique experience: solving a case in just five days by exploring the thoughts of suspects. I found the idea really clever, and I especially liked how it combines a compelling story with engaging, real-time puzzles.

You take on the role of a renowned Mindcop, investigating crime scenes and gathering clues. You’ll question suspects, pressing them for information, but be warned – they don’t always tell the truth, adding a layer of mystery. The most unique part of the game is the Mindsurf mechanic, which allows you to delve into a suspect’s thoughts and feelings.
You can shape the story with your choices and discover two endings
What really makes this game enjoyable is that it’s consistently challenging – every choice you make uses up valuable time, so you really feel the pressure. I also appreciate how the conversations gradually show you which characters are trustworthy and which ones aren’t. It’s been surprisingly good, and I was pleased to discover it has multiple endings.
Overall, the game looks really good. Positive reviews elsewhere, combined with its unique gameplay, depth, and beautiful hand-drawn art style – plus a great soundtrack – make it very appealing. I’m especially excited to try it knowing it was created by a single developer.
You can now pre-register for Mindcop on both Android and iOS! Sign up through the Google Play Store or App Store, and the game is scheduled to launch on January 20, 2026.
