BOOM Esports exits Dota 2 with a bang as they let go of their roster.
Southeast Asian Dota 2 team Boom Esports has announced they are leaving the competitive scene after eight years of playing in major tournaments.
BOOM Esports explains Dota 2 exit
I first started noticing this team way back when they were called BOOM ID. They were seriously the first to really put Indonesian players on the map in esports, which was awesome. Since then, they’ve grown, picking up amazing players from all over Southeast Asia and becoming a real force in the Dota 2 world. It’s been cool to watch them build up like that!
We’re incredibly grateful to all the players who proudly wore the BOOM jersey. We also want to thank the Hungry Beast for their unwavering support, through both our successes and challenges. This experience will always be a core part of our identity.

Great games everyone! I’m really happy with how we did at the two Internationals, and I’m proud we achieved one of my original goals for the esports team. Every player was fantastic, and I hope I was a good teammate to all of you. I’ve made a lot of good friends in Dota 2, and I’m sure I’ll see you all around. Now, it’s time to move on to what’s next!
BOOM Esports is most famous for their incredible performance at the 2022 GAMERS GALAXY: Invitational Series in Dubai. They stunned the competition by defeating strong teams like Team Secret, Team Spirit, and Nigma Galaxy, and eventually winning the championship against Tundra Esports. Interestingly, that same Tundra Esports team later went on to win the prestigious The International tournament later in the year.
The organization also competed in South America, but BOOM Esports wasn’t able to achieve the results they wanted during their short time there.
BOOM Esports’ Dota 2 exit: Where the last players have gone
BOOM Esports didn’t perform well in recent tournaments, even after qualifying for The International 2025, where they finished near the bottom in 14th-15th place. This poor performance led to the team’s disbandment.
BOOM Esports last competed in the Southeast Asian qualifiers for BLAST Slam V with a strong lineup. The team included star player Nuengnara “23savage” Teeramahanon, along with experienced players Sukhbat “sanctity-” Otgondavaa, Anucha “Jabz” Jirawong, Tri “Jhocam” Kuncoro, and Ravdan “NARMAN” Narmandakh.
Currently, four players from that team have signed with new organizations. 23savage, Jabz, Jhocam, and NARMAN have all joined Team Nemesis, which is newly formed and will compete in DreamLeague Season 27. Sanctity- is currently without a team, but previously played for Natus Vincere.
BOOM Esports has stepped away from competitive Dota 2, but they are still competing in other popular games like Valorant and PUBG Mobile.
