“Terrifying” Bambi horror movie that’s “actually good” gets new UK streaming home

Okay, so there’s this crazy horror movie called Bambi: The Reckoning – yeah, seriously! – and it’s now available to stream in the UK. It’s one of those films that takes a classic story everyone knows (like from Disney) and turns it into something totally terrifying. It’s actually part of a bigger shared universe called the Twisted Childhood Universe – some people are calling it the ‘Poohniverse’ because of their other films – and it’s all made by a production company called Jagged Edge Productions.

The collection of films now features Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey and its follow-up, Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare, and more titles are planned for the future.

Now you can stream Bambi: The Reckoning on Prime Video! It was first released in theaters in July, and is available just in time for the holidays.

The first Pooh movie wasn’t well-received – it only had an interesting idea, being a horror version of Winnie the Pooh. However, this horror movie based on Bambi has been surprisingly well-received by audiences.

I just read a review on Dread Central for this new movie, and it sounds awesome! They said it’s a really terrifying story with some seriously gnarly kills. Plus, it stars Roxanne McKee – you might recognize her from Hollyoaks and Game of Thrones – and Samira Mighty from Love Island. They gave it four out of five stars, so I’m definitely checking it out!

InSession Film described the movie as a classic example of B-horror – full of blood, violence, and a raw, uncompromising style that doesn’t bother with emotional depth.

Even Bloody Disgusting called it the best film yet in the Twisted Childhood series, and possibly the best in the public domain horror genre overall.

Many fans on Reddit share this positive feeling, with one person declaring The Reckoning their favorite film in the series so far, and another jokingly admitting they were pleasantly surprised by how good it was.

One fan declared that moment as the defining reason why this is their favorite movie universe, giving it an 8 out of 10 rating.
