Lauren Graham, known for her role in Gilmore Girls, is working with the show’s creator, Amy Sherman-Palladino, on a new project.
Twenty-five years after it first aired, Macmillan’s Celadon Books has announced that Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino are writing a book about the popular show.
Deb Futter, head of Celadon and Flatiron Books, calls this book everything Gilmore Girls fans have hoped for. She describes Lauren and Amy as iconic television creators, sharing that the book contains previously untold stories that will become part of TV history.
What to Read Next
The publisher says the book will feature previously unpublished stories and offer a personal look at the creative relationship between Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino, and how that partnership brought to life Lorelai Gilmore and the town of Stars Hollow.
Looking back at making the show is amazing. We get to relive all these hilarious and touching moments – you really see how everyone just clicked, and that’s what made it such a beloved classic, I think.

Graham expressed his excitement about the project, saying he’s delighted to work with Amy to share stories about their time filming Gilmore Girls, both during the original run and the revival.
Sherman-Palladino enthusiastically agreed, saying she’d work with Lauren Graham on absolutely anything – whether it’s a fun lunch at Joe Allen’s or a full-blown book project. She jokingly admitted to wanting to be connected to Graham indefinitely, even if it’s not entirely healthy, but that’s just how she feels.

I’m so excited! I just heard from Celadon Books that even though it’s not officially announced yet, the book is definitely coming out in 2027! I can’t wait!
Often considered a beloved classic, Gilmore Girls premiered on The WB in October 2000 and ran for seven seasons. It was later revived by Netflix with a four-part series, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life (2016). The show takes place in the charming fictional town of Stars Hollow, Connecticut, and centers on the lives of Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and her daughter Rory Gilmore (Alexis Bledel) as they deal with everyday challenges, relationships, and the complexities of family.

The show features a talented ensemble cast, including Scott Patterson, Melissa McCarthy, Keiko Agena, Yanic Truesdale, Kelly Bishop, Edward Herrmann, Lisa Weil, Jared Padalecki, Milo Ventimiglia, Sean Gunn, and Matt Czuchry.
Gilmore Girls and Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life are available to stream on Netflix.
The latest issue of Living Legends is now available, and it’s dedicated to the incredible Dolly Parton! You can purchase ‘Dolly at 80’ at newsagents or online for only £8.99.
