Marvel has announced the lineup for the next Avengers movie, Avengers: Doomsday, coming out in 2026. Joining Sam Wilson, the team – now called “The Heroic Avengers” – will feature a surprising new member.
At a Disney event in Italy on Tuesday, it was revealed that Loki will be part of the next Avengers team, joining Captain America alongside Thor, Shang-Chi, Falcon, and Ant-Man.
Disney posted a video on X showing the actors in costume as their characters, identifying them as “The Heroic Avengers.”

The photo included Anthony Mackie, who plays Falcon, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Danny Ramirez as Falcon, and Tom Hiddleston, known for his role as Loki.
Many fans expected Letitia Wright to appear as Shuri (also known as Black Panther) in the new Avengers movie, but it seems she’ll be part of a separate team called The Wakandan Warriors instead.

MCU fans are buzzing about the latest news, but the team revealed isn’t final. Sam Wilson’s group of heroes could still expand with new members.
The movie Thunderbolts ended with a scene after the credits showing Captain America building a new, official Avengers team, and prominently featured the name Wilson.
As Wilson confronts a new team of anti-heroes – now calling themselves The New Avengers and led by The Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) – it’s unclear how this conflict will resolve itself.

Hugh Jackman has recently talked about whether he might be in the next Avengers movies, which will feature Robert Downey Jr. reprising his role as Doctor Doom in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
When asked about potentially playing Wolverine again, Jackman didn’t rule it out, even though he already came back for the 2024 movie Deadpool & Wolverine. He playfully avoided a direct answer, suggesting anything is possible.
Appearing on The Graham Norton Show, Hugh Jackman hinted at a possible return to the role, saying he’s learned not to rule anything out. He previously stated he was finished after the tenth film, but now jokes that there’s enough footage of him to create an AI version of Wolverine if they wanted to continue the story without him.
Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to be released on 18 December 2026.
The latest issue of Living Legends is now available, and it’s dedicated to the incredible Dolly Parton! You can find “Dolly at 80” at newsagents or online for only £8.99.
