Disney+ is adding more Star Wars content before the end of the year! Season three of Young Jedi Adventures, a show aimed at younger viewers, will be available to stream starting December 8th.
The animated series Young Jedi Adventures takes place about 200 years before the events of Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, during the High Republic era. The new season, coming to Disney+, will follow Kai, Lys, and Nubs as they continue their travels across the galaxy. They’ll be joined by some new droid friends and will meet Rek, a mischievous droid mechanic who’s sure to cause some trouble.
This season, young viewers can follow the adventures of the young Jedi as they encounter a playful droid expert named Rek Minuu, make friends with Dotti, a friendly shopkeeper who’s great at fixing droids, and team up with three new droid pals: Beepers, Dozer, and Gigi.

The third season of Young Jedi Adventures will have just seven episodes, much fewer than the 25 episodes in Season 1 and the 23 in Season 2. This will also be the last season of the show, and the final Star Wars release for the year, debuting on Disney+ and Disney Jr. on December 8, 2025.
Although Young Jedi Adventures takes place outside the main Star Wars storyline, it still includes familiar characters and elements that fans will recognize.
Young Jedi Adventures Connects to Star Wars Canon in 3 Major Ways
High Republic Character Appearances

The High Republic, a time when the Galactic Republic and the Jedi were at their strongest (occurring between 500 and 100 years Before the Battle of Yavin), has largely been explored only in books and comics, remaining separate from the main Star Wars story – the Skywalker Saga and related films and shows.
As a movie critic, I’ve been really impressed with how Young Jedi Adventures is weaving itself into the larger High Republic story. Because the show is set during that era, it’s been able to bring characters we’ve read about in the High Republic books and comics directly to the screen. Season one gave us two major crossovers, most notably introducing Loden Greatstorm and his Padawan, Bell Zettifar, in animated form – a real treat for fans of the expanded universe!
I have to say, Bell and Loden were huge heroes to me – I mean, to Kai Brightstar. Seeing them in person really sparked his dream of becoming a Jedi, and he totally looked up to both of those High Republic legends. They were a massive inspiration!
Master Yoda

Yoda has been a part of the Jedi Order for a very long time, even going back to the High Republic era. He also appears in the show Young Jedi Adventures, where he guides young Padawans – Kai, Lys, and Nubs – at the Jedi Temple on Tenoo, sharing his famous Jedi teachings with them.
As a longtime fan of the Skywalker Saga, I’ve always been fascinated by Yoda. We first met him as a wise, seasoned member of the Jedi Council in the prequels, and then as the incredibly powerful mentor to Luke Skywalker in The Empire Strikes Back. Now, Young Jedi Adventures offers something new: a look at a younger Yoda! It’s a fun idea, though the show doesn’t really address just how long-lived Yoda’s species actually is – a mystery that still remains!
Young Jedi Adventures Comic Appearance

The Disney+ show Young Jedi Adventures has subtly expanded the Star Wars universe. Characters from the show—Kai, Lys, and Nubs—recently appeared in a comic book that concluded the High Republic storyline. This cameo in the July 2025 High Republic Finale comic connected the animated series to the larger High Republic saga.
The three young characters appeared in a scene describing the celebrations, showing them happily dancing, listening to music, and enjoying a large meal.
In Season 3, Ja’Siah Young, Juliet Donenfeld, Dee Bradley Baker (known for his work on The Bad Batch), and Piotr Michael all return to voice their characters. The animation is a collaboration between Lucasfilm Animation and Wild Canary Animation.
