As a huge film fan, I was thrilled to see Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair getting perfect scores on Rotten Tomatoes – it’s rare to see critics and audiences agree that strongly! For those who might not remember, Quentin Tarantino originally released this as two separate films back in 2003 and 2004. But this new version mashes them together into one epic movie, and they’ve even added a cool new anime sequence and an intermission, making it a complete experience.
When Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair hit theaters on December 5th, it received perfect scores from both critics and audiences on Rotten Tomatoes. Currently, the film has 10 reviews and over 100 verified ratings, but these scores may shift as more feedback comes in.
As a huge Tarantino fan, I always check the scores, and it’s interesting to see how Kill Bill was received. Volume 1 got an 85% from critics and an 81% from audiences, which is great! But Volume 2 actually did a little better with critics at 84% and really resonated with audiences, scoring an impressive 89%.
In Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair, Uma Thurman plays The Bride, a woman left for dead after a brutal attack on her wedding day. Her former lover and boss, Bill, shoots her and takes her unborn child. Driven by revenge, she sets out to find and defeat the four assassins who worked with Bill before finally confronting him.
In addition to Uma Thurman, Kill Bill features a talented cast including Lucy Liu, Vivica A. Fox, Michael Madsen, Daryl Hannah, Julie Dreyfus, Chiaki Kuriyama, Sonny Chiba, Chia-Hui Liu, Michael Parks, Michael Bowen, Jun Kunimura, Kenji Oba, Yuki Kazamatsuri, James Parks, Sakichi Sato, Jonathan Loughran, Yoshiyuki Morishita, and Samuel L. Jackson.
Todd Gilchrist from ScreenRant reviewed the extended cut of Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair and found that while the added content, including a collaboration with Fortnite, doesn’t necessarily improve the film, revisiting Tarantino’s classic revenge story is still a treat.

Most reviews show that combining the film into one version creates a more captivating and unified story than releasing it in two parts. Critics particularly liked its lasting impact, impressive visuals, and how the seamless flow of the revenge plot enhances the experience. While a few felt the extra footage wasn’t essential, the majority agreed that the longer runtime—four hours and 35 minutes—allows viewers to fully appreciate Tarantino’s skill and enjoy a more complete film.
Reviewers often point out that Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair feels both familiar and fresh, praising its striking style, over-the-top action, and clear love for classic movies. Many see it as Quentin Tarantino at his most unrestrained—a visually intense film that seems even more assured when viewed today. Ultimately, presenting the film as one complete work reinforces its lasting appeal and iconic status.
