Okay, so I just heard about this show called Run, and it’s suddenly everywhere! Apparently, it’s a drama with Olivia Colman and Lennie James, which is awesome. It’s been described as really intense and creepy, so I’m definitely gonna check it out now that it’s on a streaming service. Sounds like a must-watch!
This series features four different stories, and each one focuses on a character grappling with a difficult choice. The stories cover a wide range of issues, including addiction and the challenges of raising a child alone.
The drama first aired on Channel 4 in 2012 and is now available on ITVX in the UK, where it’s become popular, currently ranking as the #3 most-watched show.

Alongside Colman and James, who play Carol and Richard, Jaime Winstone and Katie Leung also star in Run. Daniel Fajemisin-Duncan and Marlon Smith wrote the scripts for all the episodes.
The first episode introduces Carol, a strong single mother determined to hold her family together. However, her life is turned upside down when her teenage sons are involved in a violent act that results in a death, forcing Carol to make a heartbreaking decision: protect her children or seek justice.

Despite not receiving much attention from professional critics when it first came out, Run has become a hit with regular moviegoers, currently earning a strong 7.4 out of 10 rating on IMDb based on over 200 reviews.
Honestly, I was really struck by how well this game created a dark and sad mood, but still managed to make me feel something. One player nailed it when they said it was ‘gritty’ and just totally pulled you in – it was seriously compelling.

One viewer commented that the show’s creators and actors do a fantastic job of developing the characters so well that, after just forty-three minutes, it feels like we’ve known them forever.
One viewer particularly loved how the show brought the characters’ struggles to life, saying it fostered a deep connection with them and that the way events unfolded felt impactful. They called it a fantastic series for anyone who appreciates strong acting.
Run is streaming now on ITVX.
