A recent Brawl Stars blog post previewed upcoming changes, including a new power, updates to the Brawl Pass, and other improvements. Supercell confirmed they aren’t adding a Power Level 12, but the new power will still require players to collect more resources. Here’s a breakdown of all the major changes coming to Brawl Stars soon!
What Are Buffies in Brawl Stars?
With every Brawler now having a Hypercharge, Supercell is introducing “Buffies” to Brawl Stars. These are enhancements that will make your existing Star Powers, Gadgets, and Hypercharges even more powerful.
Each Brawler will receive three Buffies in total:
- Gadget Buffie
- Star Buffie
- Hyper Buffie
As the name suggests, each Buffie is tied to what they buff.
So, how do you unlock these special abilities? Through the Claw Machine! Each attempt costs 1,000 Coins and 2,000 Power Points. You’re guaranteed to get a Buffie with each pull, though which one is random. Plus, depending on how things are set up, you might also be able to earn Buffies using Gems or by making in-app purchases.
As a reward for reaching 1,000 trophies, each player gets a free Buffie. You can collect different Buffies by using The Claw Machine, and then customize their look with Bling – each attempt to get a new skin costs 10,000 Bling. Supercell intends to regularly add new Buffies to the game, with up to six available at any given time, but the number could vary.
Supercell is planning to remove and refund all Epic and Mythic Gear for Brawlers who are being buffed. They’re also making significant changes to Gadgets.
Some Gadgets are getting an upgrade that lets you aim them! For instance, with Shelly’s Dashing Gadget, you can now choose where it goes before activating it. You can still use it the old way by simply tapping, but this new aiming feature opens up new strategies, particularly for more experienced players.
That covers everything about the new Buffie in Brawl Stars. Plus, the Brawl Pass is getting some improvements too.
Brawl Pass Receives Price Increase & Extra Rewards
Brawl Stars is making some changes to its Brawl Pass. Both the free and paid versions will offer more rewards, but the paid version will cost a bit more. The new Brawl Pass will have 10 extra tiers filled with new items. It will cost $8.99 for the standard Pass and $12.99 for the Brawl Pass Plus. These new prices will go into effect with the January season, so everything will stay the same for the December season.
The Normal Pass is getting an upgrade with new Titles and Chroma Skins! You’ll also earn more rewards, including extra cosmetic items, credits, and Chaos Drops.
The regular Brawl Pass now rewards you with Titles, unique skins, and color variations for those skins. You’ll also get extra resources and keys – we’ll explain those keys in more detail shortly. If you have Brawl Pass Plus, you’ll receive even more keys, gems, and other benefits. So, what are these keys and what do they do?
Keys are a new addition to the game, used to unlock Brawl Pass Vaults. Inside these vaults, you’ll discover valuable rewards like resources, character skins, new Brawlers, and Buffies. There are four different key types, giving players greater control over how they advance in the game.
- Brawler Keys:
- Epic Brawler – Costs 1 Key
- Mythic Brawler – Costs 2 Keys
- Legendary Brawler – Costs 4 Keys
- Ultra Legendary Brawler – Costs 6 Keys
- Resource Key:
- 2000 Coins – 1 Key
- 2000 Power Points – 1 Key
- 5000 Bling – 1 Key
- Skin Set Keys:
- New Brawl Pass Skin + 2 Chromas – 1 Coin
- Old Brawl Pass Skin + 2 Chromas – 2 Coins
- Buffie Keys:
- Specific Buffie – 1 Key
The final rewards in the Brawl Pass, called Tail Rewards, now cost 2,800 tokens. They also offer a wider range of items each time – you’ll find things like Demon Drops and Sushi Rolls instead of just a single, random Starr Drop.
You’ll also be able to use Gems to increase the rewards you get from your Tail. And just like before, any upgrades you earn but don’t use during the season will automatically be added to your account.
That covers the biggest updates coming to Brawl Stars. But Supercell also announced several smaller changes planned for next year.
Chaos Drops, Mega Quests, & More
Brawl Stars is introducing a new reward system called “Chaos Drops.” These drops come in varying levels of rarity, and some will even split into multiple rewards, similar to how Sushi Drops work. When a Drop splits, each piece will have the same rarity – the lowest being Super Rare, and the highest being Ultra Rare. Players can earn Chaos Drops simply by winning matches each day.
Ultra Chaos Drop Rewards:
- Buffie, Mythic Brawler OR Random Hypercharge – 24.7%
- Legendary Brawler OR Epic Skins – 9.9%
- Ultra Brawler – 0.4%
- Mythic Skins – 3.9%
- Legendary Skins – 1.4%
You’ll be able to get Chaos Drops through the new Brawl Pass, by winning daily matches, and as rewards during certain events.
Supercell is increasing the number of Mega Quests available each season by two, including one Omega Quest. They’re also giving players with under 25,000 trophies a boost to help them climb the ranks faster.
One of the best changes is the lower cost of Power Points. They now cost 1 gem for 10, down from 5. Although it doesn’t seem like much, Power Points can be hard to get. Keep in mind that you might want to save your gems for a Hypercharge instead.
That covers everything new happening in Brawl Stars in 2026. We’re interested to see how some of these changes play out. We like the idea of Keys, but we’re not so sure about having to work hard to get Buffies. However, most of these updates won’t be available for a while, so keep checking back for more information!
