Daniel Craig recently met a special version of his character, Benoit Blanc – a puppet from Sesame Street! His reaction to the encounter is absolutely delightful and is sure to brighten your day.
Daniel Craig is returning as Detective Benoit Blanc in Rian Johnson’s latest Knives Out mystery, Wake Up Dead Man. While the movie is currently playing in theaters before coming to Netflix, Craig was surprised with a Muppets version of Knives Out that featured a parody of his character, Detective Blanc.
“I love it,” Craig said in stitches, adding Beignet is “much better looking than I am”.

“Don’t show this to Rian. I’m recast,” he joked.
While Grover assisted Beignet Blanc with a food-related mystery, Craig announced he wanted the Muppet to be his new partner.

He explained that Josh O’Connor, his co-star in Wake Up Dead Man, is exactly the type of supporting actor he was looking for, noting that O’Connor’s performance was quite similar to what he envisioned.
Craig added, “It’s actually quite similar to how Josh behaves – it’s a small, almost unnoticeable habit he has.”
The star loved the homage so much he was very bummed out not to have been a part of it.
He said the only thing bothering him was not being able to participate with the others.
“As someone who grew up on Sesame Street, this is quite moving.”
Everyone’s hoping Johnson will include Beignet Blanc in the next Knives Out movie, but be aware that Wake Up Dead Man is a noticeably grimmer story than the previous films.

Okay, so the new mystery I’m playing takes place in Upstate New York, and it’s a real head-scratcher. You’re put in the shoes of Blanc, trying to figure out how someone was murdered in what looks like an impossible situation. The victim is this really controlling priest, Monsignor Wicks – Josh Brolin plays him – and everyone immediately suspects his younger, more energetic colleague, Father Judd. It’s a classic ‘who done it’ setup, and I’m already hooked!
Similar to the style of Knives Out, director Johnson has assembled a fantastic cast for the third film, featuring Glenn Close as Martha Delacroix, Wicks’ trusted assistant, Mila Kunis as Geraldine Scott, the town’s police chief, and Kerry Washington as Vera Draven, a follower in Wicks’ cult.
The film also features performances by Andrew Scott, Cailee Spaeny, Jeremy Renner, Daryl McCormack, and Thomas Haden Church.
The new mystery film, Wake Up Dead Man, is currently playing in theaters and will be available to stream on Netflix starting December 12th.
Knives Out and Glass Onion are on Netflix now.
