New posters for Season 5 of The Boys may hint at a previously unknown ability of Homelander, potentially making him even harder to defeat. As the leader of The Seven and arguably the most powerful super-powered individual in the series, Homelander (played by Anthony Starr) is presented as a hero to the public, but he’s actually the primary villain the show’s protagonists are trying to stop – a task they haven’t been able to accomplish due to his incredible strength.
Homelander, the terrifying villain at the center of The Boys (who’s often compared to Superman), ended Season 4 by taking control of America through martial law, making him incredibly powerful. Now, the newly released poster for Season 5 hints at an even more frightening ability he’s developed.
A new poster for Season 5 of The Boys has been revealed by Amazon Prime Video, showing Homelander floating in space while looking at Earth. This suggests Homelander is able to survive in the vacuum of space, making him an even more dangerous opponent. If he thinks he’s going to lose, he now has the option to escape the planet and plan a comeback.

In Season 3, Episode 4 of The Boys, Homelander suggested to Stan Edgar (who recently appeared in Season 2 of Gen V) that Edgar should experience seeing Earth from space, hinting that Homelander himself may have previously traveled to space.
Stan Edgar: “You do have a hell of a view from up here. I’ll give you that.”
Homelander: “You should see it from space.”
Most people assumed Homelander was exaggerating or lying when he said he’d seen the planet from space, since they didn’t believe he could survive in space. But a new poster suggests he actually can survive in the vacuum of space, which is bad news for those opposing him, like the Resistance and Billy Butcher.
Along with the trailer, Prime Video shared another poster showcasing Karl Urban as Butcher to build excitement for Season 5.

I’m so hyped for Season 5 of The Boys! It looks like everything is building up to one massive showdown between the heroes trying to take down Homelander and him fighting to stay in power. The whole cast – Jack Quaid, Karl Urban, Anthony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Chace Crawford, Jessie T. Usher, and Karen Fukuhara – are all returning, which is awesome. We’re going to have to wait a bit though, as it’s not expected to hit Prime Video until sometime in 2026.
Why Homelander’s New Powers Could Forever Change ‘The Boys’

Homelander in The Boys is incredibly powerful, possessing deadly laser vision, the ability to fly, immense strength, and almost complete resistance to injury. These abilities alone make him a formidable opponent, but his access to space makes defeating him even harder.
Even though several characters in The Boys have the power to defeat Homelander, his ability to go into space significantly raises the stakes for Season 5. It effectively makes him an unstoppable and truly frightening villain.
Homelander’s ability to send heroes into space gives him a huge advantage, turning it into a place where he can easily eliminate them. Controlling access to space also lets him monitor and deal with any global threats that might challenge his power, forcing the Resistance to develop new strategies to defeat him in the upcoming season. Ultimately, his space travel reinforces his dominance over all other Supes.
