Gotham’s next Dark Knight is exactly who it should be, even if they are Batman’s biggest problem.
Okay, so I got a sneak peek at DC K.O.: Knightfight #2, and things are seriously messed up! It picks up right after Batman gets thrown into a future Gotham overrun with Robins – and they’re not happy to see him. The worst part? Dick Grayson is leading them, he’s basically taken over as Batman after Bruce vanished, and he’s got it out for the original! It’s a total Robin rebellion, and Bruce is in deep trouble.

Dick Grayson first appeared in 1940, introduced by Bill Finger and Bob Kane in Detective Comics #38, as the very first Robin. He was a talented acrobat with the Flying Graysons, but after his parents were tragically killed during a circus performance at Haley’s Circus, he was taken in by Bruce Wayne. Over time, Dick developed into a hero of his own, eventually becoming Nightwing and forging his own path independent of Batman.
Grayson actually stepped into the role of Batman before, when Bruce Wayne seemingly disappeared in 2009 during the “Batman Reborn” storyline. Everyone believed Bruce had died during the Final Crisis event. Though he was secretly still alive, Dick Grayson and Damian Wayne worked hard to uphold Batman’s legacy in his absence.
Okay, so things got crazy in that DC battle royale. I was playing as Batman, and Joker got a lucky shot in early. But instead of actually dying, my suit activated this Boom Tube thing I’d rigged up – basically an emergency escape. Except, instead of sending me back to my usual Gotham, it flung me into this totally different, futuristic version of the city from DC K.O.: Knightfight. It’s like… my old life is gone, and this new Gotham isn’t exactly welcoming.
As a huge DC fan, I’m so excited about this! Apparently, “DC K.O.” is going to be this massive, all-out battle between all the heroes we love. Series writer Scott Snyder explained it’s basically a cosmic tournament to save everything from Darkseid, and honestly, it sounds amazing! It really feels like the fate of the entire DC Universe rests on the outcome.
Darkseid is now more powerful than he’s ever been. His actions have jeopardized the entire DC Universe, and the heroes’ only hope is to defeat him now. Victory will require extreme measures, and failure means total defeat.
DC K.O.: Knightfight #2 is on sale now from DC Comics.
