Watching Cruise perform stunts on and around the planes – walking on the wings and doing other aerial maneuvers – is truly stunning. You might wonder how they filmed it for real, but it wasn’t CGI – it was a practical stunt.

The movie also features plenty of exciting action sequences, like a crashing submarine, daring escapes from prison, intense hand-to-hand combat, and thrilling gunfights. Tom Cruise and director Christopher McQuarrie are experts at crafting these kinds of scenes, and even with any other weaknesses the film might have, the action is consistently satisfying.
