How to progress in the Unity Cup Career in Umamusume Pretty Derby

1. Training and Career

The Half Anniversary update brings a new career path to Tracen Academy racers. Players can now lead their trainee and team to win the Unity Cup: Shine On, Team Spirit, a brand-new team-based career scenario.

Okay, so the regular career mode is all about leveling up one horse and winning races with her. But the Unity Cup career is way more involved! Instead of just focusing on a single horse, you’re building an entire team. You get to train the cards representing your horses and the trainer cards you pick to help them, alongside the trainers the game gives you. It’s a lot more team management, which I’m really digging!

2. Card Choices and Strategy

You can select your preferred cards and training partner as usual. However, if you have training partners or support cards with the special “Scenario Link” highlighted, you can choose different options instead. These linked items will automatically join you as you advance in the game.

Keep in mind that guest cards and trainees linked to scenarios will appear in the scenario list automatically. Don’t use your limited hiring opportunities on those – instead, focus on acquiring cards that aren’t already available through scenarios to maximize your stat boosts.

This career path is best suited if your chosen character is part of a team with characters like Taiki Shuttle, Rice Shower, Matikanefukukitaru, and Haru Urara, as the storyline centers around their journey as a group.

3. Unity Training

Training for the Unity Cup career works a little differently than standard careers. Here’s how: you need to balance improving your own skills with developing the abilities of the team members who are with you. It’s about training both yourself and your team.

Keep in mind that when you train a stat, anyone else focusing on that same stat will also improve it. Plus, the more people training together on a single stat, the faster everyone’s progress will be. You’ll see a small blue flame bar on your supporter icon that fills up as you train with others, showing your combined effort.

When the bar is full and the fire turns a deep blue, it signals that a player’s stats are about to improve, giving you bonus points. Pay attention to those with the most intense blue fire, as they’re key to winning the Unity Cup and staying ahead in every race.

Don’t enter any race in the Unity Cup unless your stats and skills are up to the challenge. But don’t worry if you don’t win – even losing all the races won’t end your career. You’ll still progress to the Tracen Finale.

Winning all five races in the Unity Cup will earn you an achievement, a new song for your concerts, and bonus gems, so try not to lose! And don’t miss out on the Career mode’s story – it’s truly amazing. By the way, I was fortunate enough to find a Hot Spring Ticket while working on this guide!

Final Thoughts

I’m totally hooked on Umamusume: Pretty Derby! It’s not just about running races – it’s a really strategic game. You have to think long-term, pay attention to all the little details, and really understand what each of your horse girls is good at. If you can balance training, skills, and pick the right races, you can actually turn a complete beginner into a superstar! It’s so rewarding.
